Sugar Bowl is often considered one of Tahoe’s best when it comes to backcountry skiing because of its location, vertical, and miles and miles of never-ending terrain. This is symbolized in its direct access to Anderson Ridge.

Your day program starts at Sugar Bowl and heads into the ample backcountry, making your way from Mt. Lincoln into the wilderness, dropping down on both sides of Anderson Ridge for the best possible ski conditions. Skinning up, or even into the backcountry, is straightforward and fun, adding to the incredible day of remote ski touring we have ahead of us.

The landscape includes tree-lined runs, open glades, and narrow alleys, all within reach from the top of the ridge. We will begin the day early with a briefing and gear check, making sure everyone has the required lift pass to the Anderson Ridge Tour (reached by lift or gondola from Sugar Bowl), and then we’ll off on the adventure.

The ridge places you away from the lines and crowds of any resort, and allows you to choose your lines and runs as you wish. I will ensure we have a safe and fulfilling experience, tailoring the program to fit your needs and skills. The snowpack is generous, so finding fresh powder and deep trails will be fun and exciting, pushing us to the limits of our abilities.

You should be in good condition for this program as an intermediate or advanced level skier. An accommodating physical fitness is also required as you can expect to spend a full day in difficult terrain.
