When it comes to spending a day backcountry skiing, it’s possible that you couldn’t find a better location than the Rocky mountains of Colorado!
Here I’m offering a full day of magic on the slopes of the Rocky Mountain National Park, situated about 50km northwest of the major city of Denver and its international airport.
A region of endless ski piercing mountains, alpine forests, lakes, glaciers and more. The spectacular beauty of this landscape threatens to take your concentration away from the skiing and onto the backdrop!
This trip is flexible and so, along with my advise, you can choose where in the park you would like to explore. I will recommend locations given my local knowledge and we can tailor the trip to your preferences and the weather conditions at the time.
This is one of the most accessible yet wild and dramatic alpine regions of the world. You will find wonderful deep powder snow and virgin tracks until your hearts content!
We will meet in Boulder and then it’s quite a short 1-2 hour drive to reach our chosen starting point.
You should be a competent intermediate skier to join this backcountry adventure. The difficulty of the slopes will range between D2-D4, which represents easy to challenging (Detailed description given further below).
This region has an interesting historical tale given its role in the westward expansion of the US. I will also be happy to inform you about the abundant flora and fauna species that pepper the surrounding landscape.
Sign up now if you would like to join me in the wild, rugged alpine terrain that is the Rockies of Colorado! This will be a day to remember as we carve down the best powder snows, whilst sitting back in awe of the stunning horizon!
