Would you like to feel more confident in your freeride skiing or snowboarding experiences? Then join me for an avalanche safety workshop at the Vogel Ski Resort!
Located an hour away from Ljubljana, the Vogel is one of the most famous ski resorts in Slovenia. It stands above the Bohinj Valley, next to Lake Bohinj, and its nearest city is Bled. Opened in 1964, this area offers more than 30kms of pistes, and a huge terrain for powder descents.
This day course is ideal for snowboarders and backcountry skiers. We will focus on avalanche training. The Vogel Resort offers a multi-burial simulation polygon that is perfect to understand the real dynamics of avalanches. We will work on: planning a freeride skiing or snowboarding trip, the necessary equipment and its usage, how to recognize snow conditions, and safety protocols. The most important thing is that you will be able to test what you have learned!
Keep in mind that for this course you will need to be at an intermediate or advanced level. I strongly recommend it for anyone who wants to take their skiing and snowboarding to the next level and plan more challenging adventures!
So book your place now and I will teach you what I know on this avalanche safety workshop in the Slovenian Vogel Ski Resort!
I also offer freeride skiing and snowboarding trips in this same area. Check them out.

Mountain Guide
I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide, ski instructor, and sports teacher.
I believe guides do their best job when they guide in the mountains they are most familiar with. That is one of the biggest reasons why I specialize in guiding in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country around 400 times.
If you want to climb or ski in the Slovenian mountains, I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, freeride skiing, and ski touring. Most of my summer work involves climbing Triglav, and most of my winter work involves Triglav and ski touring around it.
Slovenia offers good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything, let me know, and I will see if I can help you!
I speak English. Ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch. Parlo anche un po' di Italiano e hablo también un poco de Español.
If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team will be your guide.

Mitja was awesome. I wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again as he is very knowledgeable and capable. He went above and beyond to make the trip as enjoyable as possible and even to help with planning the rest of the vacation around the country. Very personable and friendly. Thank you Mitja for the incredible experience of summiting Mt Triglav.
Fantastic hike with a great guide (Mitja) and beautiful scenery, an experience we will never forget. 🙌🤩
The trip is amazing, Mitja is the best guide ever, his life is dedicated to nature and mountains and he transmits it all the time making you feel a lot of love for Triglav. The accommodations are more than impressive its like a luxury hotel in the middle of nowhere. It was my first mountain climbing ever and he made it possible even for beginners and well... I can't say anything about Triglav but awesome is a beautiful mountain and been at the top is a life experience
Mitja is an awesome guide! I felt his good energy and he patiently answered all questions. Made the hike down very interesting. Besides having 2 great days out in the mountains I also learned about the country and his profession. Highly recommended!
We had a brilliant trip with Mitja climbing Triglav. He is a fantastic guide - extremely knowledgeable about Triglav and the best way to climb it. We did the whole ascent in one day, stopping at the hut for a few hours to have lunch while it rained. We then summitted in the late afternoon where the clouds cleared and we had a beautiful view. We hiked back down from the hut the next day after a lovely evening in the hut. It was a great time of year to go - less crowds and enjoyed hiking in the snow. We thoroughly recommend doing the trip with Mitja or his team, he is very experienced, friendly, considerate and made our trip even better than we had hoped. Thank you again!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
