Description

This 8-day program will take you to the summit of the amazing Cerro Tolosa, in Mendoza, Argentina, while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Mount Aconcagua.

Tolosa Peak is in the International Route 7 that connects Argentina and Chile, so it is really easy to access the area. We will approach the summit through the beautiful glacier route called “Hombre Cojo Glacier”, which is famous for the magical scenery that surrounds it

This mountain is perfect to improve your high altitude ice climbing techniques in a fantastic scenery. Tolosa peak is neighbor of American´s King “Mount Aconcagua” (6962 m), so from the summit you'll have an incredible view to the South face of the tallest peak in America.

During all the journey I'll pay special attention to the group safety and to your acclimatization progress. That's why there is a rest day in the middle, so you can do the whole trip feeling fine and having fun every step.

So if you are interested in climbing this mythical mountain, just next of Aconcagua, please send me a request and we'll start planning your next big adventure.

And for another adventure in Argentina, you might also be interested in my mountaineering on the Ansilta range?

Mountain Guide

I am an EPGAMT guide from San Juan, Argentina.

I am a fanatic of high mountains ice climbing and trad and sport rock climbing, and I know the Argentinean Andes because I've been climbing and guiding since 2001.

I worked mostly in the Central Andes (Aconcagua, Mercedario, all the summits in Ramada Range and Ansilta Range, Vallecitos Range), but also know and work in the Argentinean North West Atacama Region (Pissis, Bonete Chico, Llullaillaco, Antofalla, Nevado de Cachi etc), and in Patagonia, where I climbed the main needles and mountains, such as Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy Massif (including some new routes also in the main summits in the area).

I am a lover of technical ascent, rocky or icy, with a lot of experience guiding and climbing, so you can decide whatever mountain and route you would like to climb, from easy walking treks, rapps, and rockclimbing tours around San Juan City (where I live), to Ice climbing and rock climbing routes in all the Argentinean Andean including winter ascent to the highest Argentinean Mountains!!!

I have also climbed around Spain, Marruecos, Peru, Bolivia, Brasil and Chile.

What people are saying about Gabriel

All the expe was fantastic! plus the summit on Ansilta peak #7 was a great summit day, and the glacier really good for ice climbing and practicing.

All the expe was superb, I recomends to every ones

The Ansilta Range it is a fantastic place in the Central Andes, 7 peaaks over 5000mts with ice and glacier, we went to Ansilta #2 and #1 and after to peak #7, it is a beautiful place to explore

All the expe was superb great

El Cerro Mercedario is a fascinating mountain in the Central Andes, neighbour of Aconcagua, America's summit. It's a similar proposal, but much more wild.
