Standing at 3,403 meters, Aneto is the highest mountain in the Pyrenees. It is located in the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park in Spain, in the Benasque municipality, within the Huesca province, Aragon in Spain.
Also, within the park, there are many other majestic peaks such as the Posets Peak (3,371m), Punta d’Astorg (3,355 m), Pico Maldito (3,350m), Mount Maladeta (3,312m). But it is the Aneto Peak the one that stands out and is the most emblematic.
The Aneto Peak forms part of the Maladeta massif. On its north side, at 2,810 meters, lies the biggest glacier in the Pyrenees, with an impressive extension of over 100 hectares. Then, at the top of the mountain three more glaciers reside: the Aneto glacier to the north, Barracos to the northeast, and Coronas to the south.
Aneto maintains its surface in an almost impeccable conservation state. Making it one of the most wonderful places you can visit in Europe. Two days might just be enough to see all the wonderful things the Aneto peak has to offer. But I’ll show you all the highlights and my favorite spots. For instance, we’ll trek our way up through the Estasen Corridor. And I promise that standing at the top of Aneto will be an experience you’ll never forget.
Please note you don’t require previous experience to join this trip. However, it is a plus if you are used to mountainous environment.
So if you want to join this amazing adventure, please send me a request. It will be my pleasure to guide you to the summit of Aneto.
Do you want another type of adventure? I also offer this Trekking expedition across the Irati Jungle in Navarra.
