Description

The Andagua valley of volcanoes is one of the most beautiful places in Peru. Join me, on this 3 day trek across this mesmerizing spot near Arequipa.

Here, we’ll encounter over 50 small conic volcanoes, some reaching 50 meters of height. And they are all spread in a dazzling valley of 60 kilometers. Moreover, the bottom of the valley is covered in ashes and black volcanic lava, making it a true spectacle that contrasts with the vegetation and the farmland around. Plus, the river that flows nearby, craved a narrow canyon, forming stunning waterfalls, that along with the lagoons, turn it into a sight you cannot miss!

On our first day, I’ll pick you up from Arequipa, and then drive you towards the Valle de Majes. There, we’ll see the Toro Muerto petroglyphs and some ancient cementeries. Then, we’ll visit some Pisco bodegas and try the local varieties. After which, we will reach Viraco (3,400m), the highest part of the Province of Castilla. Finally, we’ll spend the night at a local refuge.

Day 2 will be when we reach the Apacheta pass (2 hours/4,800m), and see the Nevado Coropuna. Then, we’ll reach the town of Andagua, where I’ll take you to the best view points to see all the volcanoes. After that, you’ll arrive at Soporo and visit archaeological remains (chullpas).

On our last day, we’ll stand at the top of the Volcancitos Gemelos, which be around 2 hours of trekking. Then, you will visit the Izanquillay waterfalls, the Pumajallo lagoon and the Andagua countryside. To end the day, I will drive you back to Arequipa.

So don’t miss the chance to visit this amazing place. Send me a request and let me show you around.
