Alpamayo is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Located in the Peruvian Cordillera Blanca in the Andes, it should be on any mountaineer's wish list. On this 12-day trek I will take you through the Alpamayo circuit and show you some of its most stunning spots!
We will begin our journey in Huaraz. From there, we will explore the Santa Cruz Valley as we progressively immerse ourselves in the Cordillera Blanca. Over the following days we will discover different locations and enjoy stunning sights. We will explore pre-inca ruins, small villages and hamlets, and of course, revel in the Andean nature! Additionally, throughout our journey we will have porters to help us carry our bags and equipment. Also, we will have a chef with us who will prepare all the delicious meals we will enjoy on the way!
Because this is a 12-day trek, and we will ascend to heights of up to 4750m. a good fitness level is very important. Also, it is preferable if you have previous climbing experience. Of course, I will be there every step of the way to help and guide you! And we will always have the stunning sights as a reward for the hard work we put in.
Are you ready to discover the beautiful Alpamayo circuit in the Peruvian Cordillera Blanca? Then book your place now and join me on this exhilarating 12-day trek in the Andes!
If you are looking for something a little shorter, you can also check out our 6-day trek in the south of the Cordillera Blanca!

After a hearty breakfast we will begin our trek. 5 hours later we will arrive at Whiscash where we will set up camp.
A long day awaits us as we start off to Laguna Cullicocha at 4850m. Then, we will cross our first high pass at Osoruri. Finally, we will begin a long descent to Ruinapampa, where we will set up camp after 8-9 hours of trekking.
Our next campsite will be set up at Cruce Alpamayo after a relaxed 4-hour trekking day.
On this day we will be able to recover and rest. We may also trek to Laguna Jancarurish or to the Alpamayo basecamp.

Another long trekking day awaits us on day seven. We will begin by heading to the Paso Pucajirca and then descending to Jancapampa. The local Quechua farms on the way will give us a taste of the local culture.
We will have a scenic trekking day as we pass several Quechua farming communities. Then, we will ascend to Paso Tupatupa. Finally, we will reach Laguna Huecrococha where we will set up camp for the night.
Our ascent to the Paso Alto de Pucaraju will reward us with stunning sights of Taulliraju. Then, we will continue on the the peaceful Tuctubamba valley where we will set up camp after our 7 hour trek.
After breakfast we will set off on a challenging hike to the Punta Union Pass. Then, we will continue on to Taullipampa, one of the most beautiful spots we will stop and set camp in.
As our journey draws to a close we will visit the Alpamayo basecamp and the breathtaking Arhuey lake. Then we will continue to Llamacorral where we will set up our last camp.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
