For any nature lover, a 12 day hike on the Donjek route is a dream come true. This amazing path that leads through the vast Yukon territory of Canada is a gorgeous stretch of wilderness.
Located in the amazing Kluane national park, the Donjek route is actually not a route at all. There are no defined trails, or limits. There are also no prepared campsites either. Instead, it is just a huge stretch of land that we will be hiking through.
Extremely isolated, this journey is ideal for those who just want to get away and escape from the noise and congestion of the city. Along with the sheer beauty of the landscape as a whole, there are also several wonderful highlights on this adventure. They include a clear view of Canada’s highest peak, Mount Logan (5,959m). They also include a variety of rivers like the Duke river, valleys like the Donjek river valley, and creeks, like the Hoge creek, the Bighorn creek, the Chert creek, and the Copper Joe creek. Furthermore, you will have the chance to see some amazing wildlife in their natural habitat, including caribou!
You will also make your way through immense ice fields, glaciers, and high altitude alpine terrain.
Overall, this trip is a fantasy come true for those who truly adore nature. It is stunning and beautiful, but also challenging. We will be hiking approximately 100 kilometres over the course of this trip. Thus why all participants should be in good physical condition, and have some prior backpacking experience.
This is the kind of trip that stays with you for years after you’ve completed it. The scenery as well as the experience is that memorable. All you have to do is send us a request, and see for yourself.
