Whether you are taking your first steps into mountaineering or looking for training opportunities to climb higher peaks, this trip is for you!
The Aiguille du Tour mountain (3,540m) is located in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc French commune, in the Mont Blanc massif (4,808m), on the border between France and Italy.
The Chamonix commune, situated in the French southeastern region of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, is one of the world’s top skiing and mountaineering destinations. Its surrounding ancient granite mountains have been eroded throughout the years into scenic steep needle-shaped peaks known as aiguilles, which feature numerous climbing routes for all levels, with the most amazing views!
Our trip departs from the little village of Le Tour (1,450m). The first day, we will trek to the Albert Premier hut, at 2,706 meters, where we will spend the night. On the second day, we will head east to climb the 8-km2 Glacier du Tour (2,150m), up to the base of the Aiguille du Tour. We will then hike along a snow corridor and a little ridge, to finally reach the summit, where we will enjoy a breathtaking 360° view of the magnificent Mont Blanc range and the Swiss peaks. Soon after, we will begin the descent along the same trail.
This route features great terrain conditions, which makes it an ideal first climbing experience, as well as a perfect preparation for climbing Mont Blanc (4,808 m), the highest peak in the Alps and in the whole western Europe.
I will take a maximum of 4 people on this tour. While participants are not required to have a vast climbing experience to go on this trip, they need to be in good shape, so as to be able to walk uphill for 4 to 5 hours.
Enjoy this rewarding adventure in the fascinating European Alps. Book your trip now!
