The Aiguille du Moine, in the French Alps, rises to 3412 meters. Located in the Mont Blanc massif, it was first climbed in 1871. It stands at the base of the Moine ridge of Aiguille Verte. There are different routes to ascend it, and in this occasion I invite you to join me in the South Ridge route.
The South Ridge (normal route) is the easiest route to ascend Aiguille du Moine (level PD-). A particularity of this route is that the descent can be long and tricky, including many abseils.
I will take only one client with me to ensure a best guidance. I will adjust specifically to your level and interests, making the trip safe and exciting.
We will meet in Chamonix and take the train to Montenvers. From there we will reach the Couvercle hut, the classic starting point of the ascent, which will start early the next day. The Couvercle hut sits at 2687 meters. It offers splendid views of the Mont Blanc range, from the Courtes to Aiguille du Midi.
The second day includes the ascent as well as the descent to Montenvers to catch the train back to Chamonix. It will be a long and tiring (but rewarding!) day. The ascent includes crossing a glacier and climbing on granite.
It is important to note that finding the route can be tricky, so it is ideal to hire a certified mountain guide. As the south route is rather long, if you want to have a more relaxed pace I offer to spend another night at the Couvercle hut. Contact me for more details on this option (it will have an extra cost).
Furthermore, if you want we can combine this trip with an ascent of Dent du Geant, the Cosmiques Ridge of Aiguille du Midi, the traverse of Aiguille d’Entreves, or more!

We will meet in Chamonix and take the train to Montenvers. Then we will cross the Mer de Glace and ascend the ladders. We will reach the Couvercle hut in the afternoon, where we will spend the night.
We will leave the Couvercle hut in the early morning. We will start by crossing the glacier at the base of the route. Then, we will continue climbing over granite. From the top we will enjoy the stunning views. The descent to Couvercle hut is long, and from there we will continue to Montenvers to catch the train back to Chamonix.

Mountain Guide
I'm an IFMGA mountain guide from Romania and a member of the Austrian Mountain Guides Association (VOBS) and the East European Mountain Guides Association(EEMGA).
My passions are alpinism, rock and ice climbing and ski touring. Over the last decade and a half I have climbed and skied all corners of the World, spent numerous seasons guiding in the Himalayas, New Zealand, Alps and the Carpathians Mountains.
My primary concern as your guide is your safety. With that comes a great deal of fun, learning and engaging in experiences that will be memorable for a lifetime. I hope to have the opportunity to climb with you and help you achieve climbs, summits and experiences not yet imagined!
I have a very strict policy on guide-to-guest ratios for all types of terrain and these are clearly explained prior to engagement. For multi pitch climbs it is usually 1:1 and it never exceeds 1:2. For single pitch venues (especially on instructional outings) it never exceeds 1:4. Higher ratios are possible with the hiring of additional guides and only following prior arrangements. For treks and ski tours the ratios are more generous but depending on the terrain and/or the group’s experience.
I am comfortable in using for guiding and teaching purposes the following languages: English and Romanian.

It was an amazing experience. Daniel Pobega was excellent. Calm, friendly and very professional. Will definitely book another trip with him if not Vallee Blanche but other future activities.

We had a great time , unfortunately Cosmin broke his arm two weeks before the trip but the replacement guide Nicu Durnac was superb.

The plan was to leave early to ascent Mont Blanc via Trois Monts. As a beginner, Cosmin accessed my performance by timing my ascent to the shoulder of Tacul, else he has to change the plan. I met the timing and proceeded to Maudit. Unfortunately, he made a tough decision to head back as the condition at the foot of Maudit was not great. (We heard serac fell at mid day). Being professional, Cosmin changed the plan to ascent Tacul and we did Cosmique Arete. I would highly recommend this trip!
