Ascend Marmolada, the highest peak in the Dolomites, and experience the thrill of high-altitude mountaineering!
This challenging adventure offers two distinct routes, each demanding a full range of mountaineering skills – crampon and ice axe proficiency, rock climbing techniques – all without exceeding manageable difficulty.
Choose Your Path! We'll gather at the Passo Fedaia parking lot (after the dam wall) at 6:00 AM for equipment checks before setting off. From here we'll be able to choose our own adventure on two equally thrilling routes:
Classic Route (Marmolada Ice): This traditional route traverses moraines, ice fields, a short equipped rock section, and finishes on loose ground or snow. Generally accessible from June to September, conditions require careful evaluation.
West Ridge: This alternative route tackles the long via ferrata (protected climbing route) on the West Ridge, offering a slightly steeper challenge compared to the classic route. The well-equipped via ferrata minimizes major objective risks. Expect an easier final stretch on snow or ice, with descent options depending on conditions.
Pack light, nutritious snacks for short breaks during the climb. Consider dried fruit, parmesan flakes, small sandwiches, a thermos of hot beverage (tea/water/lemon/sugar/herbal tea), and water. We strongly discourage using plastic bottles, so bring a (preferably biodegradable) bag for any waste.
Take on an unforgettable challenge and triumph over the majestic Marmolada - just contact me and I'll handle the rest!
Accommodation
On request, an overnight stay at the summit can be organized at the Castiglioni refuge, with exquisite sunset and sunrise views.

Mountain Guide
The desire to turn my passion for the mountains into my profession led me train as a professional mountain guide. I became a certified IFMGA guide in 2005 and have spent more than 200 days per year on the mountains ever since.
Although I usually work in the Mont Blanc area, Monterosa, the Lepontine Alps and the Dolomites, I'm always eager to explore more remote places and have truly unique experiences. I have extensive experience in the Lofoten Islands, in Norway, as well.
To me, reaching the summit is important but not as much as enjoying the journey and sharing some unforgettable moments. The ascent usually provides the chance to enjoy the views, while a night in a bivouac is always a good opportunity to look at the stars and share a good talk.
I speak English, French and Italian, of course.

Paolo was a fantastic guide! He is kind, friendly, efficient, fast and yet slow enough so that I could keep up with his pace. Everything that he does on the mountain, every single move, every single step, it radiates confidence! I felt completely safe being guided by him and without him, I would never have been able to realise my dream of many years - that was to climb Dom. Thank you again Paolo Kindest regards Andrija

Paolo was an amazing guide. He was absolutely wiling to work with me to develop the best itinerary for some of the more technical peaks and routes that I was looking to complete in the Alps. I have climbed a lot of technical routes in the Alps, but this was my first time with a guide. He made me feel safe through some technical terrain and we worked together to manage objective risk as much as we could. He guides all over the Alps and does not just repeat Blanc over and over again. I would absolutely reach out to Paolo again for more trips in the Alps. Specifically, he is quite skilled at guiding for rock climbing and ski touring in addition to the big glaciated peaks I did with him.
