Test your limits on this challenging ascent - the perfect stepping stone if you're looking to before tackling more ambitious peaks like Mount Rainier.
Known as the "Home of the World's Worst Weather," Mount Washington holds the world record for the highest wind speed ever witnessed, a mind-boggling 231 mph. During the winter months, the wind speed on the summit tops 70 mph at least once every three days, and temperatures can drop to -30F and below.
Despite its challenges, Mount Washington is accessible to climbers of all levels, making it an ideal place to gain invaluable winter survival experience. Our guides have hundreds of Mount Washington ascents under their belts and can help you push yourself higher and farther than you might have thought possible, and as members of the Mountain Rescue Service, you'll be making your ascent with someone who is highly experienced and knowledgeable about the mountain.
Experience is not required, but please be aware that the ascent is 4.1 miles with 4,250 feet of elevation gain. You should be in good physical condition and prepared for a challenging uphill trek that can take 4-5 hours. If you are interested, we can help you develop a training program to ensure you are ready for the climb.
