Description

Are you ready to take your ice climbing skills to the next level? Then join me on this advanced ice climbing course in Zinal, Switzerland!

Designed for climbers with independent single-pitch ice climbing experience, herem you'll have the chance to test your mettle and tackle more challenging climbs, as well as refine their technique on waterfall ice.

Over four intensive days, you'll work closely with a certified guide to enhance your ice climbing skills - and with a small guide-to-client ratio of 1:2, you'll receive personalized instruction and guidance in a mix of advanced skills and thrilling multi-pitch climbs.

From mastering "short pitching" for efficient climbing to tackling longer and more difficult ice routes, every day will offer new challenges and techniques to develop.

Note that this demanding course requires a high level of physical fitness (fitness level C) and strong technical skills (ice climbing level 3 and rock climbing experience, including lead climbing and belaying).

    • Flexibility to change areas if conditions are unstable
    • Video analysis
    • Transportation during the activities

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival and Welcome Session in Val d'Anniviers

    Arrival and meeting at 17:30 at a hotel in the Val d'Anniviers. Welcome session, including a course overview and gear check.

    Day 2: Climbing Warm-Up

    Depending on the conditions, we'll start with either a guided multi-pitch climb to ease back into the flow or a single-pitch day. The focus will be on refreshing ice climbing techniques and ensuring a solid foundation before moving to more advanced topics.

    Day 3: Multi-Pitch Climbing Introduction

    Introduction to multi-pitch climbing with skill development, or a guided climb to build confidence and technique.

    Day 4: Efficiency on the Icefall

    "Short pitching" on an icefall to enhance efficiency both while climbing and at belay stations.

    Day 5: Long Multi-Pitch Climb and Farewell

    Morning checkout, followed by a long guided multi-pitch climb (difficulty tailored to individual skill levels). The day's activities conclude around 16:00.

    Please note that the itinerary is flexible and may change based on conditions, participant abilities, and weather or safety considerations.
