Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our office representative will extend a warm welcome and arrange for your private transfer to the hotel.
Then, your guide will visit your hotel to provide a briefing about your Everest Base Camp trip. In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner featuring traditional Nepalese cuisine, accompanied by a cultural dance show.
In the early morning, your guide will pick you up from the hotel and transport you to the airport in Kathmandu, from where you will board a flight to Lukla (2840m/9320 ft), the entry point to the Everest Region. Upon landing on the steep mountain runway, your guide will provide a briefing, and if you have booked porters, you will meet the rest of the team before commencing the trek to Phakding (2,610 m/8560 ft).
The trek begins with a descent along the Dudh Koshi, passing through notable villages such as Chaurikharka, Chhaplung (2660m), and Ghat (2590m) before reaching Phakding. Along the way, you will be captivated by the breathtaking Himalayan vistas and encounter various religious landmarks including prayer wheels, artistic expressions of faith, chortens, and Mani walls adorned with Buddhist mantras.
Today, you will embark on a gradual and steep ascent towards Namche, following the course of the Dudh Koshi gorge and traversing several magnificent rivers via high suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. En route to Namche, you will pass through the villages of Bengkar, Chumoa, Monjo (the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park), and Jorsale.
Upon reaching Namche, you will arrange your accommodation and take some time to explore the surroundings. Situated on a steep mountain bowl, Namche Bazaar offers breathtaking views of the towering Himalayas on both sides. Here, you will have your initial glimpse of Mount Everest, peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Namche presents the final opportunity to inspect your gear and procure any additional equipment required for the higher altitudes.
This day is dedicated to resting and allowing your body to acclimatize to the new altitude, which is particularly crucial as you will soon begin ascending rapidly on the trek.
However, acclimatization doesn't mean staying confined to your hotel room. There are numerous attractions to explore around Namche, including spectacular mountain vistas to appreciate. The area offers a variety of lodges, tea shops, and gift shops to visit. Additionally, you can take a trip to the visitor center adjacent to the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters to view a range of artifacts related to the earliest Everest climbers, gain insights into Sherpa culture, and observe the diverse flora and fauna of the park.
Another option is to hike to the Everest View Hotel, situated above Namche, providing magnificent views of Mount Everest and other Himalayan peaks.
After enjoying breakfast, we set out for Tengboche. The trail undulates, providing us with an awe-inspiring initial glimpse of the colossal peaks of the Khumbu region: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. We pass through several villages and various tea shops before descending steeply to a bridge over the river at Phunki Tenga. This town serves as an excellent spot for lunch and a brief rest before embarking on the challenging ascent to Tengboche.
Tengboche Monastery, the most significant and revered monastery in the region, is a picturesque site situated around the primary Tibetan monastery in the area. Here, you can enter and listen to the monks' chants during the morning and evening sessions.
After enjoying breakfast, we will set off for Dingboche. Before embarking on today's excursion, take some extra time to immerse yourself in the surroundings of Tengboche Monastery. In the morning light, the monastery presents an even more breathtaking sight against the backdrop of the mountains.
Commence your day's adventure by walking down to Imja Khola. Crossing the turbulent Imja Khola over a steel box bridge, you will journey to the village of Pangboche. This scenic journey offers views of numerous fields, summer settlements, and majestic mountains. After a few hours of walking, you will eventually arrive at the expansive settlement of Dingboche, where you will spend two nights as a second acclimatization day is necessary.
Dingboche is a small village that boasts perhaps the largest cluster of homes near the Everest base camp, along with a variety of upscale dining options and hospitable locals. Upon arrival, you will encounter a picturesque collection of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the crops such as potatoes, buckwheat, and barley from grazing animals and cold winds. During the summer, yak herders often use the meadows in the valley of Dingboche to graze their yak herds.
Today marks another day of rest and acclimatization in Dingboche following our time in Namche. It's crucial to allow our bodies to acclimate to the changing altitudes and increasing elevation, as higher elevations pose an elevated risk of altitude sickness.
As we wake up, we are greeted by a blue sky adorned with scattered clouds. While enjoying breakfast in the teahouse, take in the breathtaking vista of Ama Dablam mountain, soaring to 6856 meters (22,493 feet). Following a delightful breakfast, you will depart from Dingboche to embark on a hike up Nagarjuna Hill, which stands at an elevation of 5100 meters.
An excellent way to spend time in Dingboche is by hiking to Nagarjuna Hill, situated on a hilltop at the edge of the Chukkung Valley, above Dingboche. From this vantage point, you can revel in panoramic views of Ama Dablam (6610m), Thamserku (6608m), Kantega (6685m), Lobuche East (6119m), and Lobuche West (6145m), as well as the marvelous panorama of the Pheriche Valley.
Alternatively, you can opt for a hike towards Chukhung Ri (4750m) or the stunning Nangkartshang peak (5,083 m). This trail ascends to an isolated summit offering remarkable vistas of the majestic Himalayas.
After gradually descending from Nagarjuna Hill, we will return to the hotel for lunch, relaxation, and leisure activities before preparing for our journey to Lobuche the following day.
Leaving Dingboche, the path descends to the expansive terrace above the Khumbu Valley. We will commence a gentle ascent to Dughla, where we will take a brief break for lunch. The trek unfolds amidst stunning mountain vistas, with Ama Dablam to the south and to the north, Pokalde (5,741m), Kongma-Tse (5,820m), and the imposing wall of Nuptse.
A volunteer doctor from the west, supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association, is stationed here to provide medical care and guidance to trekkers traveling along this route. As we progress, the landscape evolves from dense forests to sparsely scattered shrubbery. After a bit more walking, we will arrive at Lobuche village, nestled at the base of Mt. Lobuche (6,119m), where we will spend the night.
Today, we embark on our journey with the bustling energy of pre-expedition excitement. An early rise from Lobuche will lead us along a rocky path, offering stunning views of glacial ponds and ice formations. As the morning sun illuminates the base of the valley, the entire expanse will gradually be bathed in a golden glow.
We will ascend through meadows and rocky moraines, traversing the Khumbu Glacier until we reach Gorakshep. Following lunch at Gorakshep, we will continue towards Everest Base Camp. After a challenging day at high altitude, we will finally arrive at the renowned Everest Base Camp, where we will pause to capture photographs and soak in the atmosphere of the world's most famous peak for all summit expeditions. Following this, we will return to Gorak Shep, where we will spend the night, allowing time to appreciate our surroundings and wander through the camps.
As planned, we set out early in the morning and, after approximately two hours of ascent, we reach Kalapatthar. Should you decide to tackle the climb to the summit ofKalapatthar, also known as the "black rock," you will be treated to unparalleled views of the entire Khumbu Glacier below and a 360-degree panorama of Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks.
Adorned with prayer flags and cairns, Kalapatthar features a small stupa and a weather station at its summit, offering a breathtaking backdrop of glaciers and panoramic mountain vistas, including Pumori, Nuptse, Changtse, Ama Dablam, Taweche, Everest, and Kantega. After returning to Gorekshep for breakfast, we are prepared to rest following a long yet unforgettable day. We then descend to Pheriche for a well-deserved break.
Following a night's stay in Pheriche, proceed with your descent through a landscape adorned with rhododendrons and juniper trees, while remaining alert for wildlife such as vibrant pheasants, mountain goats, and potentially even snow leopards.
As you journey, you will cross the Dudh Koshi bridge towards Phunki Tenga, where you can observe the Buddhist prayer wheels operated by water. Subsequently, you will descend to the valley floor before arriving at Namche Bazaar. Spend the night in Namche.
Today marks the conclusion of your adventure on the EBC trek. Following the Dudhi Koshi River all the way down to Lukla, you will spend your final night in the Himalayas. As the trail descends steeply, it's important to tread carefully, especially as our tired legs contend with the rugged terrain.
Upon reaching Lukla, take the opportunity to explore Lukla Bazaar and purchase local items as souvenirs for your family and friends. You can also celebrate the success and safety of your trek with your crew and partake in a farewell party, where you may even learn some Sherpa dance steps.
In the early morning, we depart from Tenzing-Hillary Airport, embarking on a picturesque 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu. As we glide through the sky, soaking in the mesmerizing views of the Khumbu region, we carry with us the memories of an unforgettable and rewarding journey to the EBC.
Upon arrival, your guide will accompany you to the hotel, recognizing the importance of a restful night following the challenging trek. In the evening, we will come together for a farewell dinner. If needed, we can assist in organizing a transfer for your departure.
Following breakfast and our final day in Kathmandu, our vehicle and escorts will be on standby to take you to the international airport three hours before your scheduled flight back home. We wish you a safe journey and will fondly remember the wonderful times we shared. Bon Voyage! We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again someday.
Accommodation
We'll stay 2 nights in a twin-sharing hotel in Kathmandu city. Additionally, there will be 11 nights of twin-sharing accommodations in local lodges during the trek.

How safe is the Everest Base Camp Trek?
This is a common concern for trekkers when planning their EBC journey. Annually, thousands of trekkers successfully complete the journey, with approximately 90% doing so without any issues. Health problems prevent about 10% of travelers from finishing the trek, making it generally safe and achievable for most hikers. The trek poses no risk of avalanches or landslides, and although Lukla airport is often considered one of the world's most dangerous airports due to its location, Lukla flights are also safe. The trail to Everest Base Camp has been well-constructed in recent years and, during peak season, it is frequented by international travelers. The primary challenge of the trek is altitude sickness, so proper preparation is essential. Conducting thorough research, seeking advice from Himalayan experts, ensuring the right equipment, a well-prepared itinerary, and prior training are important steps. Additionally, our 12-day schedule includes adequate time for acclimatization in Namche and Dingboche, emphasizing the need for good physical and mental health, wise eating habits, proper hydration, and sufficient rest during the trek.
How much experienced do the guides have?
Most of our trekking leaders have more than ten years of experience and extensive knowledge, having been brought up in the high mountain areas. Our skilled Himalayan trek leaders have an exceptional grasp of the region’s terrain, cultures, and obstacles. Their experienced guidance guarantees secure and rewarding experiences, guiding through stunning landscapes and promoting cultural interactions. Through their expertise, they turn trips into unforgettable adventures, imprinting travelers with enduring memories of the magnificent Himalayas.
How can I prepare for this Everest Base Camp Trek?
To get ready for the Everest Base Camp journey, concentrate on improving cardiovascular fitness with regular hikes, uphill walking, and stair climbing. Strengthen your leg muscles with squats and lunges, and acclimatize by gradually ascending to higher altitudes before the trek. Pack appropriate gear, stay hydrated, and educate yourself about altitude sickness.
How will meals be handled during the trip?
Full-board meal service is provided, meaning that your meals are included throughout the trek in the mountain regions. Each day, you will receive three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). During your stay at the Kathmandu hotel, breakfast will be provided, and all meals will be included during the trek.
Are there any age restriction?
There are no specific age restrictions for this trek. However, due to the strenuous nature of the hike at high altitudes, crossing mountains, rocky terrain, rivers, and alpine woods, we recommend that individuals between the ages of 15 and 55 consider participating. Nevertheless, experienced hikers in their 60s or 70s who are in good physical condition can also take part in this activity and successfully complete the trek.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
