In the early morning, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and transport you to the airport in Kathmandu, from where you will catch a flight to Lukla (2840m/9320 ft), the entry point to the Everest Region. Upon landing on a steep mountain runway, your guide will provide a briefing and, if you have booked porters, introduce you to the rest of the team, before we commence our trek to Phakding (2,610 m/8560 ft).
As we begin our trek, we will descend Dudh Koshi, passing through notable villages such as Chaurikharka, Chhaplung (2660m), and Ghat (2590m). Throughout the hike, you will be captivated by the breathtaking Himalayan views and encounter various religious artifacts including prayer wheels, chorten, and Mani walls inscribed with Buddhist mantras.
Please note: During the peak trekking months (March, April, May, and September, October, November), Lukla’s flights operate from Ramechhap Airport instead of Kathmandu due to heavy air traffic at Kathmandu Airport. The drive from Kathmandu to Manthali/Ramechhap airport takes approximately 5-6 hours, depending on highway traffic. You will need to wake up at 1:30 am, drive to Ramechhap airport in a shared tourist vehicle, and then take a 20-minute flight to Lukla.
Today, you will embark on a gradual and steep ascent towards Namche, following the banks of the Dudh Koshi gorge and crossing several magnificent rivers via breathtaking high suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. Along the way to Namche, you will traverse the villages of Bengkar, Chumoa, Monjo (the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park), and Jorsale.
Upon reaching Namche, arrange your accommodation and take some time to explore the area. Namche Bazar is a village nestled in a steep mountain basin, offering captivating views of the towering Himalayas on both sides. Here, you will catch your first glimpse of Mt. Everest, looming over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Namche serves as your final opportunity to inspect your gear and procure any additional equipment required for the high altitudes.
Today is dedicated to resting and allowing your body to acclimatize to the new altitude, which is crucial as you will soon be ascending rapidly. However, acclimatization doesn't mean confining yourself to your hotel room. There are numerous attractions to explore around Namche, offering spectacular mountain vistas. You can visit the various lodges, tea shops, and gift shops, and also take a trip to the visitor center located near the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters. Here, you can view a range of artifacts associated with the earliest Everest climbers, immerse yourself in Sherpa culture, and observe the diverse flora and fauna of the park.
Another option is to trek to the Everest View Hotel, situated above Namche, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Everest and other Himalayan peaks.
After enjoying breakfast, we set off for Tengboche. The trail leads us through varying terrain, providing an awe-inspiring initial glimpse of the towering peaks of the Khumbu region, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. We pass through several villages and numerous tea shops before descending steeply to a bridge over the river at Phunki Tenga. This serves as a perfect spot for a lunch break and a chance to rejuvenate before embarking on the challenging ascent to Tengboche.
Tengboche Monastery, the most significant and sacred monastery in the region, is nestled in a picturesque setting surrounding the main Tibetan monastery. Here, you can enter and listen to the monks' enchanting chants during the morning and evening sessions.
After breakfast, we will depart for Dingboche. Before embarking on today's journey, take some extra time to immerse yourself in the breathtaking surroundings of Tengboche Monastery. In the early morning light, the monastery stands out even more, set against the backdrop of the mountains.
Your day's adventure begins with a leisurely walk down to Imja Khola. Crossing the lively Imja Khola over a steel box bridge, you will make your way to the village of Pangboche. This scenic route is adorned with fields, summer settlements, and magnificent mountain vistas. After a few hours of walking, you will eventually arrive at the expansive settlement of Dingboche, where you will spend the next two nights to allow for a second acclimatization day.
Dingboche is a quaint village boasting one of the largest clusters of homes near the Everest base camp, along with a variety of cozy eateries and welcoming locals. Upon arrival, you will encounter a picturesque array of fields enclosed by stone walls, protecting the crops of potatoes, buckwheat, and barley from grazing animals and chilly winds. In the summer, yak herders often use the meadows in the valley of Dingboche to graze their herds of yaks.
Today, following our stay in Namche, we have another day of rest and acclimatization in Dingboche. It's crucial to allow our bodies to adjust to the changing altitudes and increasing elevation, as higher altitudes pose an elevated risk of altitude sickness.
As we wake up to a clear blue sky adorned with scattered clouds, we can savor the breathtaking view of Ama Dablam mountain, soaring to 6856 meters (22,493 feet), while enjoying breakfast. After a satisfying meal at the teahouse, we will venture out from Dingboche to hike up Nagarjuna Hill, which stands at an elevation of 5100 meters.
Hiking to Nagarjuna Hill is a wonderful way to spend time in Dingboche. Situated atop a hill at the edge of the Chukkung Valley, it offers panoramic vistas of Ama Dablam (6610m), Thamserku (6608m), Kantega (6685m), Lobuche East (6119m), and Lobuche West (6145m). From Nagarjuna Hill, you can also marvel at the splendid view of the Pheriche Valley.
Alternatively, you can embark on a hike towards Chukhung Ri (4750m) or the beautiful Nangkartshang peak (5,083 m). These trails lead to a secluded summit with awe-inspiring views of the mighty Himalayas.
After gradually descending from Nagarjuna Hill, we will return to the hotel for lunch, relaxation, and some leisure activities, preparing ourselves for the journey to Lobuche the following day.
As we bid farewell to Dingboche, the trail leads us down to the expansive terrace above the Khumbu Valley. We will then embark on a gradual ascent to Dughla, where we will pause for a brief lunch break. Along the way, we will be treated to stunning views of Ama Dablam, while to the north, we'll behold Pokalde (5,741m), Kongma-Tse (5,820m), and the imposing wall of Nuptse.
A volunteer doctor from the west, supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association, is stationed here, providing medical care and guidance to trekkers using this route. As we progress, the landscape transitions from thick forests to sparsely scattered shrubs. After a little more walking, we will arrive at Lobuche village, nestled at the base of Mt. Lobuche (6,119m), where we will spend the night.
Today, we kick off our journey with the bustling energy of pre-expedition anticipation. Rising early, we depart from Lobuche and trek along a rocky path to witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of glacial ponds and icebergs. As the early morning sun illuminates the base of the valley, the entire expanse gradually bathes in a golden glow.
We make our way through meadows and moraine stone steps, navigating the Khumbu Glacier until we reach Gorakshep. Here, we will pause for lunch before continuing on to Everest Base Camp. After a challenging day at high altitude, we finally arrive at the renowned Everest Base Camp, where we take the opportunity to capture photographs and relax in the presence of the world's most famous peak for all summit expeditions. Following this, we return to Gorak Shep, where we will spend the night, allowing time to relish the surroundings and wander through the camps.
We'll set off early in the morning and after approximately two hours of ascent, we arrive at Kala Patthar. If you dare to make the climb to the summit of Kala Patthar, also known as the "black rock," you will be treated to unparalleled views of the entire Khumbu Glacier below and a 360-degree panorama of Mt. Everest and other peaks.
Adorned with prayer flags and cairns, Kala Patthar boasts a small stupa and a weather station at its peak, offering a backdrop of glaciers and breathtaking panoramic mountain views, including Pumori, Nuptse, Changtse, Ama Dablam, Taweche, Everest, and Kantega. After returning to Gorekshep for breakfast, we are prepared to rest following a long yet unforgettable day. We then descend to Pheriche, where we can enjoy a well-deserved break.
Following a night's stay in Pheriche, proceed with your descent, surrounded by rhododendrons and juniper trees, while keeping an eye out for wildlife such as vibrant pheasants, mountain goats, and even the elusive snow leopards.
As you make your way, you will cross the Dudh Koshi bridge to Phunki Tenga, where you can observe the Buddhist prayer wheels powered by water. Descend to the valley floor before arriving at Namche Bazaar, where you will spend the night.
Today marks the conclusion of your EBC trek adventure. You will follow the Dudhi Koshi River all the way down to Lukla, where you will spend your final night in the Himalayas. As the trail descends steeply, take care while walking as your tired legs navigate the rocky terrain.
In Lukla, you can explore the local bazaar and shop for unique items to bring back as gifts for your family and friends. You can also celebrate the success and safety of your trek with your crew and participate in a farewell party where you can learn some Sherpa dance steps.
In the early morning, we depart from Tenzing-Hillary Airport, taking a scenic 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu. As we ascend above the sky and absorb the mesmerizing views of the Khumbu region, we carry with us the memories of an unforgettable and rewarding journey to the EBC.
Upon your arrival, your guide will accompany you to the hotel, recognizing the importance of a restful night after the challenging trek. In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner. If needed, we can make arrangements for your departing transfer.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
