Our journey begins in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán, a cultural hub of Argentina's northwest region. From here, we will travel towards Laguna Blanca, a beautiful lake with crystal-clear waters that reflect the surrounding snow-capped mountains. After experiencing a taste of its natural beauty and wildlife, we'll proceed to El Peñón, a quiet and scenic town, to rest and prepare for the exciting week ahead of us.
Explore Campo de Piedra Pómez, a natural wonder with a vast expanse of white volcanic rock formations, deep canyons and otherworldly shapes, sculpted by the wind and the elements over thousands of years.
Ascend up some of the largest and most impressive volcanoes of the Andes, such as, Galán Volcano. With an elevation of 5,910 meters, it stands as one of the highest peaks in the area. Witness its unique geological landscape filled with hot springs and impressive geysers. You will explore Tuzgle volcano, a 5,486 meters high active stratovolcano in Salta.
Get a glimpse of the rugged beauty found in Tolar Grande, surrounded between salt flats and towering mountains; important geological marvels with stunning panoramas. Along the way we will also come across various landmarks such as Cono de Arita, one of the tallest rock formations in the world, La Casualidad, a large gold and silver mine, and the historic Estación Caipe, a stunning train station with intricate detailing and ornate ironwork.
Hike up Cerro Macon, an important cultural site and a part of the Andes mountain range. This ascent will let you admire its variety of flora and fauna, including condors, foxes and guanacos. In addition to its wild beauty, it also holds cultural significance as a sacred site for the Mapuche people, who believe their ancestor's spirits reside there.
Discover San Antonio de los Cobres, a town that serves as a gateway to some of the region's most incredible natural attractions such as Desierto del Diablo, also known as the "Devil's Desert"; home to ancient fossilized remains of prehistoric animals. After exploring one of the world's most rugged landscapes, be rewarded by visiting Ojo del Mar, or "Eye of the Sea", a mesmerizing lagoon fed by an underground river, which gives it a beautiful clear blue color.

What experience and how fit do I need to be to climb this mountain? Is this program suitable for children or older people?
Hiking through the Andes mountain range can be a challenging task due to the high altitude and rugged terrain. You should feel comfortable traversing difficult terrain, including steep slopes, loose rock and extreme weather conditions for long periods of time.
How far in advance should I start training and what kind of training do you suggest?
To ensure you are well-prepared for the challenges you may face, it is suggested that you start some physical training such as running, hiking and engaging in aerobic activities prior to this trip. It is also important to acclimatize your body to the thin air that is found in high altitude terrain. This can be done by gradually ascending to higher elevations and spending time at each level to allow your body to adjust.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
