Description

If you have been looking forward to starting climbing outdoors, then there is no better place to learn this new skill than the heavenly island of Kalymnos, Greece. Picturesque houses, pristine waters, and high-quality rocks facing the Aegean Sea, will astonish you like nothing else before.

Here goes my plan: to coach you for 5 days, in which you will practice top-rope climbing and safe belaying. You will get a solid outdoor climbing experience, learn basic safety skills and build the confidence you need to go up to the top of your wildest dreams! We will cover the following topics:

  • Get a solid and authentic outdoor climbing experience

  • Coaching and training to improve your technique

  • Transfer your indoor climbing skills to outdoor rock climbing practice

  • Top-rope & lead climbing

  • Safety skills & Understanding of outdoor risks

  • Learn to read a route on the rock

  • Learn to use a guidebook and prepare outdoor climbing gears

You will be very excited with the program I created for beginners, which means: you don’t need previous experience in outdoor climbing to sign up!

We will start with Odyssey, the most important crag of Kalymnos, where you will take your first steps on stalactites. On the following day, at Poets/Kalydna, you will learn efficient climbing techniques and skills, and train your balance and footwork, with an amazing view of the Telendos island.

We will also have a rest day to relax and practice whatever sport you like (except for climbing, of course), such as kayaking, biking, scuba diving or to just enjoy yourself at the beach. We will then be prepared to climb the red rock of Arginonta over a turquoise sea, and Grande Grotta, the symbol of climbing in Kalymnos.

You can find the complete itinerary below this description. However, keep in mind that the schedule can be adapted to the weather and different orientation of the crags, in order to be in the sun or the shade, etc.

Take the challenge! Book this guided rock climbing trip in Greece now and rest assured that you will gain a new fun skill for life.

If you already have experience in rock climbing and master the basics, I can offer you another 5-day intermediate course in Kalymnos.

Rock Climbing Instructor

After nearly 10 years of mountaineering in Chamonix, I decided to dedicate myself to rock climbing.

In 2005, after one year intensive training, he got the french national sport’s instructor certificate for rock climbing (BEES escalade).

I have been exploring the crags of France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and China. I finally decided to set up his climbing school in the island of Kalymnos (Greece). The beautiful landscapes, the endless sunshine and the vast climbing potential of the island convinced me to settle here from my first visit.

Since then, climbers from all over the world came to share his passion and to take avantage of his experience to improve their rock climbing skills. I have opened many new routes both in Kalymnos and Telendos from 4 to 9a. I climb 8a on-sight and red-point up to 8c. I did most of the routes of the island and always has new projects to red point!
