8-day Ecuador volcanoes tour with summits on Illiniza, Cotopaxi & Chimborazo

When it comes to seeing, exploring and climbing amazing volcanoes, few places can match the unbelievable Avenida de los Volcanes in Ecuador. Filled with the highest peaks in the country, including the nation’s highest peak: Chimborazo (6,310m), along with other great peaks like Cotopaxi (5,897m), this natural avenue will take your breath away. And, on this 8-day expedition, you will get to climb to the summit of the best peaks in the area.

Our trip will begin in the capital city of Quito. From there we will go to the Pasochoa Peak (4,250m), which you get to climb for acclimatization. Afterwards, we will spend the night in Machachi. On the following day, we will head to the Los Ilinizas Refuge (4,700m), and the day after that, we will climb to the summit of the beautiful Iliniza volcano (5,126m).

For the fourth day of the trip, we will make our way to the Cotopaxi National Park. Once there, we will go to the Jose Ribas Refuge (4,864m), where we will spend the night, and on the following day, we will climb to the summit of the great Cotopaxi Peak. After the ascent we will make our way to the town of Banos, where you can enjoy some soothing hot springs. You will also get to visit the Pailon del Diablo Waterfall.

On the seventh day of the trip, we will go to the Whymper Refuge (5,000m), on the Chimborazo Volcano, and on the following day, we will make the ascent of this incredible peak. Afterwards, we will return to Quito.
