This 7-day ski touring program in the Lyngen Alps is your best option to ski this beautiful and increasingly popular peninsula located to the east of the city of Tromsö, in Norway!
The Lyngen Alps are part of the highest alpine area in the Scandinavian region. They are beautiful mountains with steep slopes that drop directly into the ocean. And this ski tour will take you up to the summit of 1800m-peaks, which have snow year round.
This program is extremely unique because we start the day at the beach and climb over virgin slopes to solitary summits, from where the view of the surroundings is just amazing! Then we put our skis on and enjoy some perfect powder all the way down to the beach again.
You’ll be staying at a small, cozy and very relaxing hotel, where you’ll rest every night to gain strength for the next day. Plus, you’ll be enjoying some local homemade cuisine, with fresh fish caught just a few meters away.
And finally there’s also the chance to spot some of the famous Northern Lights while there!

I love the mountains and they have been my destiny and my passion for more than 20 years now!
Everyday I feel a big gratitude to work in this outstanding landscapes and being able to inspire my clients - we always have a good time together and make it a unique experience!
I am based in Schaffhausen, a nice historic town in the north of Switzerland and the area of lake constance. From here we have all options, whether it be one-day-trips to eastern- and central alps or whole journeys to foreign countries.
My second base is the small town of Arolla, Valais - all high peaks of the alps are around this area. It is exactly between Zermatt and Chamonix, a perfect place to be...I love the contrast of the different cities!
Together with my team and friends from BERIE alpine school we want to invite you to join our climbs and skiing trips or our trekking trips around the world. In high altitude mountains, I have lot of experience, working many years in this game with well-established partners, for example as guide on Mount Everest (Summit success 2003 with 7 members).
In my program you will find fine mountain journeys with or without skis. We will offer you not just the climb and a summit successes! Mountains are not gyms!
To get in touch with the local people and to understand their way of life and history is an important part of my philosophy. Weather didn’t play ball. But Hermann managed to change schedule a few times for a weather window. We got beautiful 😍 sunshine but it changed to winter 🥶 making the routes out of limits. We were the only 2 trying. Tried the Monch and further up knew it was dangerous with fresh deep snow. I still had a great 2 day trip in a winter wonder land. And summited a smaller peak. It was 2 windy 🌬️ for anything else.

Thomas was just a great guide! It had been awhile since I had been part of a rope team and he kept me in check to get me back in the swing of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it! We only got to summit Monch due to inclement weather rolling in and overnight it got worse. Made the call to come back another time and attempt Jungfrau. Can't wait to climb again with Thomas!
