6-day trek in Val d’ Aran

Get ready for a memorable trek across Val d’Aran, or Aran Valley. On this exciting traverse I will guide you along 70 km over the period of 5 days, around the Spanish and French Central Pyrenees. This is a great program open to non-expert mountaineers, as long as they have a good fitness level. Ready to join?

The iconic Aran Valley is a gorgeous natural site in which 30% of the terrain is above 2,000 m. This area still has a rich cultural and culinary heritage worth exploring on this tour.

To begin this program, I will meet you in Vielha, a city in the province of Lleida – Catalonia, Spain. Next day, we will begin our trekking itinerary from the Pla de Beret. For the next days, the itinerary takes places mostly in France.

Each day we will walk for between 6 and 10 hours, and climb peaks of almost 3,000 m. This is why some previous trekking experience is very important, as well as doing regular exercise. While this itinerary is not technically difficult, we will cover between 9 and 19 km per day.

An added picturesque element of this program is that each day we will spend the night in remote huts. You will experience this in places like the Estagnous hut (2,246 m) and the Araing hut (1,965 m).
