The Alps are a vast and gorgeous mountain range in Europe. And within this stunning range, the Carnic Alps stand out for their beauty. Join me on this 6-day hiking trip to explore the Carnic Alps, and discover their best spots on this adventure.
The Carnic Alps form part of the Southern Limestone Alps. They are located in Austria and the northeastern part of Italy.
On our 6-day adventure we will trek across some of the most charming paths in the Alps. We’ll hike through the Carnic High Trail, via della Pace. This long-distance trail runs along the italian border, overlooking the austrian territory. And it offers an incredibly rich and varied territory, brimming with unique flora and fauna.
Also, this trail has a very interesting history. It was created to form part of a network of supply routes during First World War. So, it extends from Carinthia to South Tyrol. And, nowadays, it is a connecting route for the people that live on the towns in this area. Hence, it is an excellent opportunity to mingle with locals and learn about their culture. Here, we’ll encounter some of the most hospitable people, that will share stories of those that have inhabited this place. We’ll even stay in mountain huts that will allow us to experience the local lifestyle.
Moreover, the trail will take is a scenic path, that offers the absolutely best views of the Carnic Alps. So the sceneries we’ll get all throughout our journey, will make it totally worth it.
If you wish to take part of this adventure, don’t hesitate and send me a request. It will be an amazing adventure across the Carnic Alps.
However, if you are looking for an adventure during the winter, I also guide this High Tyrol 6-day ski tour.

Mountain Guide
I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide and I'm passionated about nature. I was born in 1977 and before entering in the mountain life, I worked as a teacher in Borg Lienz.
I started training as a canyoning guide 15 years ago. Since 2009, I have also trained with canyoning leaders in Carinthia. Additionally, I have been on the road as a mountain and ski instructor. During the summers, I have guided a lot in Switzerland, where I took my guests to many mountains over 4000 meters high. My “motto” in the mountains and in life has always been the same: “Never stop exploring”
I work now for Carnicoalpin where our main objective is leading and accompanying you on steep mountains and great ski slopes with a particular focus set on safety.
For more information, please feel free to contact me. We can discuss about your wishes and the different options I offer. I will be really happy to be your guide and share a great moment with you!

Had an absolutely amazing experience with Tobias, from the training day to summiting the Matterhorn. Couldn’t ask for a better guide 10/10
John
Tobias knows the Matterhorn and the surrounding area extremely well. He will go at a level that is comfortable for you and help you reach whatever mountaineering goal you have. Another reviewer said Tobias knows every step on the Matterhorn - and this is absolutely true. He's one of the BEST around.
Roberto
i guess it was a little our fault for not investigating the fact that due to weather its not always possible to climb the matterhorn, but we where notice 1 week before that the weather was not good, so it was very complicated to organize something interesting as second option.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
