5 Days
Jun - Aug
It is my pleasure to invite you to a 5-day rock climbing course in Chamonix. It is a program I have designed especially for those who are looking for an initiation in climbing as well as those who want to improve their current skills.
The aim of this rock climbing course in Chamonix Valley is to help beginners get the basic techniques of rock climbing. Therefore, I will teach you the fundamentals of belaying and climbing progression. That way, at the end of the course you will be an independent and self-confident climber.
And if you already have a good level of climbing, this course also has something for you. You’ll have the opportunity to improve your current techniques and acquire new ones.
As you may know, the valley of Chamonix counts on a wide variety of cliffs and tracks for all levels and tastes. And as if it wasn’t enough, let me tell you that I also offer an especial rock climbing program to teenagers over 14 years old. So, it is a trip suitable for all the family!
During this 5-day rock climbing course in Chamonix, you will learn the following content:
Climb in a second and a lead rope, in easy tracks for beginners;
Safe lead climbing for those wishing to improve their skills;
How to ensure a second and a first rope;
Make a safe returning.
If you want to know more details about the day-by-day program, please find a sample itinerary at the end of this description. Remember that any item can be modified and adapted to your level and expectations.
Lastly, let me also remind you that next departures will take place each Monday from mid June to September, upon request.
We will meet at 9:00 am at the Rocher des Gaillands (gneiss). Then, I will teach you the basic belaying techniques to start gaining confidence in the walls.
After 15 minutes of a walking approach, we will climb in a very nice climbing area located in Vallorcine at 1250 meters of altitude. Here, we will review the belaying and gear manipulation techniques. Possibility of climbing tracks of 2 to 3 lengths.
We will take a lift to the Montenvers (included in the price) before getting to other rock climbing learning spot at 1850 meters of altitude. From there, we will enjoy a beautiful panoramic viewpoint. We will practice some climbing techniques as well as other belaying skills. Back to the valley.
After 15 walking minutes we will reach a climbing area located at 1600 meters of altitude. You can continue improving your technical movements on the rope or you can practice a lead climb.
Both are great climbing spots and are located at 1300 and 1400 meters of altitude. Two magnificent places where to finish this course, surrounded by an unforgettable landscape.
