I will guide you on this 7-day trip of a lifetime along the “scenic route” in the Rondane National Park, as we explore and discover the epic scenery that makes up this part of Norway, with tranquil and beautiful mountain farms stretching out in to vast valleys, mesmerizing and peaceful lakes, and majestic mountains looming above, the dry conditions making this region tailor-made for mountain biking.
Rondane National Park is located in the middle of Norway, and is the oldest national park in the country. It is home to several peaks over 2000m, and there is a diverse range of flora and fauna, with animals such as wild reindeer, elk, wolverines and lynxes roaming the area.
We begin on the first morning in the village of Ringebu, from where we then head to the traditional mountain farm of Gjermundshaugvangen.
We will explore and discover the epic scenery that makes up this part of Norway, with tranquil and beautiful mountain farms stretching out in to vast valleys, mesmerizing and peaceful lakes, and majestic mountains looming above, the dry conditions making this region tailor-made for mountain biking.

We will pick you up at the train station and transport you to your accommodation at the Hjerkinn Mountain Lodge. For supper you will be served traditional mountain food, made from produce from the area, and we will go through the details of the days ahead.
After breakfast we will get a short transport to the trailhead, and we embark on our epic day in the mountains. We will follow old natural trails through some of the most scenic mountain valleys in the area, and we finish with an epic descent all the way back to the valley. Our lodging is at the rustique Kvebergsøya farm hotel, and after a delicious meal from local produce we get a good night sleep and get ready for the next day.
Distance: 40 km 700 hm climb – 900 hm descent
After a solid breakfast we will embark on the planned route of the day. We will follow the old trails from the historic mines in the area, and specifically the trail of the cableway connecting the mines with the railway in Alvdal. We finish our tour with a refreshingly fun descent from the top of the old cableway and down to our lodging at Urørt lodge which will be our base for the next two nights.

500 hm climb – 1000 hm descent
After breakfast we will get a transport Mt. Tron, where we will be shuttled up to a mountain plateau at 1300 meters on Norway’s second highest lying mountain road. From the plateau we have 800 vertical meters of fantastic singletrack down to the valley floor, and we can pick and choose among some of the best mountain biking Norway has to offer. We finish the day with dinner at the lodge in the evening.

500 hm climb – 1100 hm descent
After breakfast we get a shuttle up to the mountains. The tour of the day will take us through the alpine highlands, with dry singletracks in beautiful scenery, and lots of downhill. We will finish with a thrillingly fun descent down to the valley floor and the river Folla. Our shuttle picks us up at the bottom, and brings us to the other side of the valley where we will sleep at a traditional summer farm with amazing views.

700 hm climb – 1000 hm descent
Straight from the summer farm we make a small climb to our first summit where we enjoy views of mountains, lakes and rivers and a long and beautiful descent. At the bottom we head back up to the mountains and the last and spectacular descent taking us all the way down to our hotel for the night. Arriving at the hotel you can enjoy a relaxing and refreshing swim in the spa pool. In the evening we enjoy a delicious farewell-dinner made from local produce.

600 hm climb – 750 hm descent
Following a slow and tasty breakfast we head back out on the trails. Our shuttle will transport us to the trailhead of the day and we begin with a long and beautiful descent. The first part of the day will be spent on some beautiful trails in the forest, before we commence on a very scenic traverse bringing us back up above the treeline, two summits and the trail ends with a fantastic trail straight from the summit and down to the valley floor and the end of the tour at Urørt Lodge.

We recommend full suspension bikes on all of our tours. We also provide rental bikes, specially tailored for our tours. We will issue a recommended packing list for every tour. Please note that the packing list is issued as a reference, and Urørt ski og sykkeleventyr AS is not responsible for failing to include any particular item or misspellings on this list.
Even though most of our tours are hosted in some of the driest areas of Norway, we will still be in the mountains and above the tree line for a longer period of time on most of our tours. We encourage all our guests to be prepared for all kinds of weather, and all seasons, even during mid-summer. At all times follow the instructions of your guide, and use the issued packing lists as reference to get the most out of your tour!

I hold a passion for mountain adventures, especially for secret gems off the beaten path.
Through the companies Svaneti Backcountry and Urørt, I have been organizing guided ski tours to Svaneti since 2013. I have first-hand knowledge of the skiing, culture, and local partners in the area.
As a mountain bike guide, I am at the top of my game in my own backyard, which consists of the local mountains, Rondane National Park and the area surrounding Røros.
