Description

Situated between the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, the Bay of Fundy is a beautiful marine area that supports a multitude of ecosystems.

The bay of Fundy records the highest tides in the world annually, usually around 17m. The record, reached as the result of storm conditions, was a tide of 21.6m in 1869.

On this 5-day hike you will get a chance to explore an array of different landscapes including forests, sea lakes, rivers and you will observe the impressive impacts of 10,000 year old glaciers.

Also on the trip you will visit the popular Peggy’s Cove lighthouse, hike alongside the coast with its stunning views and of course witness the procession of the highest tides in the world.

What’s more, ocean caves, seaside cliffs, beaches and the Cape Split sea stacks will all be seen as we thoroughly explore and investigate this region.

When we reach the Annapolis Valley you will have the opportunity to attend the local winery and the Grand Pre National Historic site where you can learn the sad history of the Acadians who were expelled from the area.

Finally, we will also have the pleasure of visiting the wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Lunenburg and Grand Pre.

If you fancy the opportunity to leave your footprints of the mud flats of the highest tides in the world, explore a multitude of landscapes and learn fascinating regional histories, then sign up now and don’t miss this fantastic hiking experience!

If this trip has tickled your fancy then check out this 6-day hike around the stunning Cape Breton Island, steeped in history and containing one of the largest salt lakes in the world. Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
