The Dolomites are a world-famous Italian mountain range. Join me and cross its stunning peaks on an unforgettable 5-day ski touring expedition!
Part of the Southern Limestone Alps, the Dolomite Mountains stretch from the River Adige to the Piave Valley. Located in northeastern Italy, these beautiful mountains are part of the provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol and Trentino.
The goal of this 5-day ski touring adventure is to cross from the Pala Group (Pale of San Martino) all the way to Lake Braies (also known as Pragser Wildsee and Lake Prags). We will discover amazing descents on the Marmolada, the Sella Group, and the Fanes/Sennes Group.
The classic starting point of the Dolomites traverse is San Martino di Castrozza, located in the most southern part of the massif. However, I am very flexible and we can start from other places too. We will use the Superski Dolomite lifts only when we need to. Additionally, we will climb no more than 700 meters per day using skins. Finally, we will get a well deserved rest. After skiing all day long on top quality snow, we will spend the nights in charming mountain huts where we will enjoy delicious Italian food! You can check the complete itinerary below!
Keep in mind that for this trip you need to be at least an intermediate skier with some ski touring experience and a good fitness level. And please bring fat skis!
So, if you are up for this unforgettable ski touring experience in the Dolomites, please get in touch with me. I am sure that this 5-day adventure will amaze you from beginning to end!
From San Martino di Castrozza we will get to the Rolle pass and then go through the Mulaz Pass or the Venegia Valley. We will finish the day at the San Pellegrino Pass.
From the San Pellegrino Pass we will ski through the Forcia Rossa and Malga Ciapela. With the Marmolada cable cars we will reach the highest point of the Dolomiti Super ski area, and ski down to the Fedaia Pass.
Using the famous Sellaronda lifts, we will reach the Pordoi Pass and the Sass Pordoi. From there, we will ski down to Alta Badia. Our destination will be the Lagazuoi hut.
From the Lagazuoi hut, we will get to the Sennes hut passing through Vallon di Fanes.
From Sennes we will head up to the most famous mountain lake in the dolomites: the Braies Lake. Final descent and return to the starting point.

We did a 1 day Ferrata with Marica. We've both never climbed a Ferrata before but we are both good hikers. We enjoyed our trip very much and you don't need to be a climber. Marica took good care of us and she is very informative with the local geography and history. We felt very safe with her. If you are traveling near the Dolomite and want to try something a bit out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend doing a ferrata especially with Marica. We did both ferrata ra gusela nuvolau and ferrata-averau. It took us about 6 hours.
