Ski touring is one of the most fun ways to discover the wild corners of the Spanish Pyrenees. Ascending to the top of these peaks is quite an experience, yet coming down is a pleasure you can’t explain with words!
During this 4-day ski touring adventure, I invite you to discover the amazing Val d’Aran in the Spanish region of Catalonia. Thanks to the quality of its snow and its great ski touring opportunities, this area has become one of the most popular winter destinations in the country.
We’ll ascend three spectacular summits located in Val d’Aran: Tuc de Salana (2,483 m), Tuc of Rosari ( 2607m ) and Tuc del Port de Vielha (2605 m). We will start of every day from the charming village of Salardú. Every morning we’ll have a new summit to explore. Then, every afternoon, we’ll return back to our hotel where we’ll enjoy the delicious traditional cuisine of the area which features dishes such as Civet, Olla aranesa and Truhada. For a more detailed description of the trip, take a look at the itinerary below!
This expedition is ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers who are physically fit and are ready to face new challenges. Furthermore, participants should be able to tackle 800-1,000 meter slopes and should be ready to ski in any kind of terrain.
Ready for this unique ski touring experience in Val d’Aran? Then send your request and we’ll start making plans. It will be my pleasure to show you this beautiful region that I call home.
If you are looking for more winter adventures in the Spanish Pyrenees, you can also follow me on this Carros de Foc splitboarding trip.
Meeting with the rest of the participants in Salardú where we’ll check last minute details of the trip.
We’ll ascend this unique peak that is known for its beautiful and small dense forest located near the summit. The views from the top will be breathtaking and once we are ready we’ll descend back to Salardú.
Elevation gain +800 m. – 800 m descent.
We’ll start this day from the parking lot of the Baqueria Ski Resort and from there, we’ll ascend the Tuc of Rosari summit. Then, we’ll descend through the Estany of Garrabea valley to Horqueta d’Arreu. Finally, we will descend back to the parking lot.
Elevation gain +1.000 m. – 1.000 m descent.
Elevation gain +800 m. – 800 m descent for the Tuc de Baciver.
We will start exploring through a beautiful forest and once we are in open terrain we’ll enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains until we reach the amazing Tuc del Port de Vielha (2605 m) where we’ll ascend all the way up to the top. Definitely a great classic route in this area that is well worth visiting!
Elevation gain +1.200 m. – 1.200 m descent.
Lunch and return trip.
If you are looking for a longer trip we may extend the program one more day.
