South through central Utah, there is a mountain range that exhales the greatness of its wild nature. It is the Wasatch range, that stretches 260 km from the Utah-Idaho border displaying an incredibly colorful flora.
That will be the location of this 4-day mountaineering course. You will learn technical rock and snow skills and be able to practice actual climbing.
On the first day, we will learn everything about alpine rock climbing, we will review belaying, rappelling and efficient movement on rock. We will get to climb a moderate peak such as Reservoir Ridge and a multi-pitch one like Steort’s Arete.
On the second day, we will deepen in our snow travel skills, our use of crampon and axe, and dare to mix climb Toledo Peak. On the third and fourth day, we will extend our knowledge of crevasse rescue and glacier travel, and will be more than ready to go through a big mountaineering route towards Mt. Olympus (2751 m).
To sign up, it is crucial to have some mountain experience and to be fit, although you don’t need proficiency in either rock or snow climbing.
If you want to spend 4 days in the Wasatch range paradise and be better at climbing, do not hesitate and book this program now.
There is also a multi-pitch ice climbing course in Utah that you can take a look at.
