Description

This 4-day intro to scrambling in the Cuillin of Isle of Skye is a perfect opportunity to learn a different approach to mountains.

Scrambling is a step up from hiking. It involves the use of hands to grab rocks and make your way up through steep terrain. Therefore, it requires special attention to the position of the rocks and how to approach the hike in general.

The beautiful Cuillin mountain range located in the west of the Scottish Isle of Skye. Its main ridges are the Black and the Red Cuillin.

This program is designed for those of you that already have some hiking experience, but haven’t tried scrambling yet. During this 4-day course you’ll learn the basics of this activity while enjoying the amazing scenery of the island. We’ll visit both the Red and Black Cuillin. However, we’ll keep to the easier sections as you get the hang of the sport so you’ll feel comfortable all along the way.

We’ll start on the first day with an easy ascent to warm up for the next days. Then, we’ll look for more demanding hikes every day. Finally, we’ll try to accomplish the highest mountain in the area, Sgurr Alasdair (992 m), and other spots with great views of the surroundings.

So don’t hesitate and send me a request for this 4-day intro to scrambling in the Cuillin Isle of Skye to enjoy a great outdoors activity.

For those that want some more adventure, I also offer a 4-day climbing traverse on the Cuillin Ridge!

What people are saying about Euan

I was fortunate enough to have Euan as my Guide for my first alpine adventure. Euan’s patience, knowledge and humour made our trip challenging, rewarding, educational and above all fun. I would not hesitate to book him for future outgoings and recommend him highly to anyone who is looking for a guide in the mountains or on the crag.

Spending a day in the hills with Euan is always a pleasure: Summer or Winter he will always ensure that you’re experience of the day will be remembered. His leadership style and skills are excellent and he is always willing to instruct and pass knowledge on no matter what the activity is.

Some of the best days I have had in the winter hills have been those guided by Euan. The climbing is always challenging, for me, but his calm reassurance and expertise always results in an enjoyable and memorable day.I am already looking forward to doing more routes with him next winter!

Euan is an excellent leader and seems to have a great gift of knowing the abilities of those he is leading. He definitely creates even more enthusiasm and enjoyment : even when I am going to have a really great day, he makes it even better!

Tim

Euan was great and I would recommend him to others.
