Description

Have you ever wanted to backpack in the Grand Canyon? If yes, then join me on this 5-day adventure!

Located in Arizona, in the southwest portion of the United States, The Grand Canyon is the most famous national park in the country…and with good reason. The Canyon is home to red rocks, bright blue rivers, anthropology and so much more, all of which you will get to discover with me.

We begin our journey descending into the canyon for 7 miles in order to reach our campsite, and we will learn some history about the region along the way. We will then rise early the following morning to hike 7.2 miles to walk alongside the Colorado River and experience Ribbon Falls before arriving at our campsite for the evening. The following morning we will rise early to enjoy a hearty breakfast before making our way 4.5 miles to the Indian Gardens, which is probably the most famous attraction in the park: housing many relics from the Havasupai Indian community. From there, the next day we will hike 4.8 miles to the Canyon’s South Rim, where we spend our last night before shuttling back across the canyon to our cars.

This trip is of an intermediate level of difficulty and a fantastic adventure that can be enjoyed year-round! The price includes almost everything you need, so just be sure you have a water container with you for the long hikes ahead.

Itinerary

Day 1: Access the Canyon

Surmount the drive from flagstasff and meet at the rim for a pack check! Then, we’ll descend into the canyon for our first night at a backcountry camp under the stars.

Day 2 to 3: Navigate the Canyon

You may be aware that the lottery system makes securing campsites difficult, but no need to worry—I’ve got it all covered! On days two and three, we’ll navigate the main corridor, pausing to take in breathtaking waterfalls, sweeping vistas, and the exceptional meals prepared by your guide.

Day 4: Top out the Canyon

Our adventure leads us to the other side of the canyon as we make our way to the top. Along the journey, we pace ourselves under the sun on this long day. By evening, we’re rewarded with a stunning sunset over the canyon.

Day 5: End of the trip

After a hearty breakfast, we shuttle back across the canyon to reunite with our cars and belongings—celebrating with well-earned high fives!
