Located in the northwest corner of the United States in the state of Washington, the Cascade Mountains are a popular place for tourism among travelers and adventurers. Cutting down the center of the state, they are easily accessible from Seattle and even Vancouver, and some of the mountains are infamous for great climbs, unique glacier terrain, and fascinating legends.
Glacier Peak is the most remote volcano in Washington as well as one of its most active. As the state’s fourth-highest peak, it has consistently been a part of regional significance across cultures. It is heavily glaciated with a long, diverse approach of meadows, cedar and fir trees, and uncanny views. All these features make for one awesome mountaineering expedition.
Your program starts near Seattle, and you will traverse trail and glacier to reach the top. It is a great mountaineering course that covers many disciplines of climbing. You will receive instruction on ice axe positioning, self-arrest, crampons, climbing knots, and so much more. By the end of your four-day program, you will have applied valuable skills in hazard assessment and glacier travel to summit one of the most notorious mountains in the region.
If you are looking for an all-encompassing mountain adventure, you will absolutely love this immersive program. Reaching the mountain requires more than ten miles of foot travel, which means you have a great opportunity to learn about the area and its history. It is a tangible experience in an evocative location that is a definitive part of Washington nature.
This is a sustained and challenging climb, so previous mountaineering experience is required. You should be in good shape to participate in this climb as well.
This area is special to me and sharing it with others is a dream come true. I will guide you on a safe and fun program that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Book this unforgettable mountaineering program NOW and spend four days becoming a better climber and having the time of your life!
We can also try a four-day backpacking program in Olympic National Park! Or we can climb Sahale Peak on a two-day mountaineering program!
