Highlights

  • Climb one of the most popular mountains in Cordillera Blanca.
  • Take part in a demanding expedition in the Peruvian Andes.

Description

Located in the Peruvian region of Ancash, the Tocllaraju (6,034 meters) is one of the highest and most popular mountains of the Cordillera Blanca. I invite you to come with me on this technical climb and discover this astonishing pyramid-shaped summit.

The starting point of our trip will be the city of Huaraz. From there, we’ll drive to Pashpa. This little village will be the trailhead of our ascent. We’ll start a 4 to 5 hour hike to the Base Camp (4,350 meters) going through the Ishinca Valley. On the following day, we’ll go to the Moraine Camp (4,950 meters) or the High Camp (5,100 meters). The ascent will also take us approximately 4 or 5 hours. On day 3, we’ll reach the summit after a 15 to 16 hour hike. Finally, during the last day of the trip, we’ll return to Pashpa and drive to Huaraz.

Although it is not an easy ascent, the Tocllaraju is the least difficult mountain from the 6000 peaks of the range. I strongly recommend you to have a good level of fitness and prior mountaineering experience to join this climb.

So send your request now and start planning the ascent to this incredible peak. I will be happy to share this wonderful climbing experience with you!

I can also lead you on an expedition to Huascaran in Peru. Check it out!
