Description

Monte Civetta is a 3,220 m.a.s.l mountain in the Dolomites in the Italian province of Belluno. Come with me on this 3-day program and we’ll take one of the longest via ferratas in the Dolomites to its summit!

On the first day of the program, we’ll start in Piani di Pezze, in Alleghe, and hike for 1 hour to Coldai Hut. We’ll face a 350-meter vertical drop. Then, on the second day, we’ll take a 2-hour trek after the Via Ferrata degli Alleghesi to the top of Monte Civetta, which will take us 4 hours. From the top, we’ll get to see dazzling views of the surroundings. Then, we’ll rest in the Torrani Hut at an altitude of 2,910 meters. Finally, on the third day, we’ll go back to the top and descend through the normal route. Consider that both the second and third days of the itinerary will be demanding. To reach the summit, we’ll face an elevation gain of 800 meters.

As for the requirements, it’s mandatory to have prior climbing experience and a very good level of fitness. Participants should be able to face a difficult via ferrata and a long day of hiking. Keep in mind that due to the high altitude that we’ll face on the summit day, you will need some experience with acclimatization as well.

So, does this 3-day via ferrata to the summit of Monte Civetta sound like something for you? Then don’t hesitate to send the request and book your place on this program!

On the other hand, if you’re looking for an easier via ferrata in the Dolomites, you can take a look at this trip that I lead in the Bepi Zac al Costa.

We had a wonderful experience on top of Großglocklner. We felt very secure during the whole trip. Mauro was always clear and we got to learn several tips for our next adventures. I recommend!

Kristen

We had such a great trip! We felt incredibly safe with Mauro even during some intense, crowded moments up on the peak. All in all, we had a great experience!

Our dolomites experience was amazing! Mauro was really nice and patient with me and my wife. We changed our itinerary on the last day of dolomites as the via ferrata on piz boe would have been too difficult, instead we did a smaller one on Mauro's suggestion.
