Are you looking to improve your sport climbing technique by receiving instruction, tips, and feedback from an experienced climber? Then join me for this 3 day program in one of the best climbing towns in Europe, and I promise you will come away a more knowledgeable climber!
Located in northern Italy, Arco is a charming town near the lovely Lake Garda. The locals of Arco have undertaken initiatives to develop new climbing routes in the surrounding area, and also to check that the bolts on existing routes are in good condition. Because of this, it is a popular climbing destination and will make a perfect base for us during this program, especially so you may reward your hard work with an ice cream or a cappuccino in one of the town’s many cafes.
We will spend time in both the climbing garden and in the cliffs surrounding Arco, and the specific routes will depend on the level and interest of the climber. This program is designed for participants who have already completed a basic course in sport climbing or are at least 5th degree top rope climbers, but who want to take their climbing knowledge and technique to the next level.
You will receive instruction in the following topics: climbing safety, toprope climbing, dismantling routes, lowering yourself and rappelling, climbing tactics, along with personalized feedback that will make you a better climber.
Sign up now for my 3-day sport climbing course: not only will we have fun exploring one of Europe’s top climbing destinations, you will also learn skills and techniques that will improve your climbing and help you continue to progress as a climber.
We will meet at 10am at either the hotel or the campsite, depending on where you are staying. From there, we will check our equipment and then head to the climbing garden.
We will climb outdoors in the area surrounding Arco today. The specific site and routes we choose will depend on the interest and abilities of the climber. Afterwards, we may enjoy dinner together at a local Pizzeria.

Mountain Guide
IFMGA/IVBV Certified mountain, ski and canyoning guide, member of DAV and VDBS mountaineering and sport climbing teaching and training team. I’ve been part of the VDBS team for the formation and training of German mountain guides for 20 years.
I started climbing at the age of 17. Since 1987 I am certified mountain guide and a passion has become a profession. I live in Scharnitz / Tyrol and I am leader of the moutaineering school Alpenwelt Karwendel in Mittenwald.
Ice climbing in norway, skitouring in morocco, rock climbing in cuba or high mountains in the himalaya - I like it to explore new areas around the world. I led a DAV training expedition for talented young mountaineers in the Tian Shan mountain range with climbing Khan Tengri and did several expeditions to the karakorum mountains and the himalayas.
As a full-time mountain guide, I feel at home in the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains as well as in the mountains and climbing areas worldwide. I am happy to accompany you as a guide to your desired goal!

Better than I could ever have expected. Bernd was very skilled guide, able to smoothly adjust to my skill level and the conditions on the go. Very fiendly, easy to communicate with. Made my day extremely enjoyable and memorable.

Bernd was an amazing guide! We had a great time doing a 10 pitch climb on the Alpspitze mountain, and some fun single pitch afterward. As I am a somewhat experienced climber, he was a wonderful guide who gave me the freedom and trust to lead pitches and to belay him. Bernd is an excellent and smart climber who was able to push me to do my best and provide an incredible experience, while being patient while I enjoyed climbing on limestone in the alps for the very first time!

Bernd is a great teacher and guide. My husband and I are so glad that we had him as first timers for ice climbing. Aside from being knowledgeable, he is a very kind, warm and genuine person.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
