3-day Spirit Mountain expedition, MT

Spirit Mountain (12283 ft / 3744 m) is an amazing peak located in the Beartooth Mountains of South-Central Montana. This 3-day expedition offers one of the finest moderate alpine routes in this mountain range.

The climbing potential that this summit offers is spectacular, the east face of the Spirit Mountain is one of the biggest faces in this State offering adventurous participants plenty of first and even second ascent potential.

On this 3-day course we will learn mountaineering skills and also, climb to the top of this beautiful summit. Participants will sharpen their route finding skills, and practice rock and snow climbing techniques.

This mountain trek offers amazing views of the famous Bear’s Tooth spire (11,920 feet / 3,630 m), known by the Native Americans as “Na Piet Say”, and also of one of the tallest mountains in the Beartooth, Mount Reargard (12,209 feet /3,721 m).

The Beartooth Mountains are home to rich wildlife such as wolves, elk, mountain goats and other beautiful species. This region is famous for being one of the few areas in the country where Grizzly bears can be seen.

As this is a challenging climb, all climbers need to have previous multi-pitch climbing experience and be in great physical condition.
