Would you like to spend three days climbing and skiing on unique alpine terrain? Then come with me to El Chalten, Argentina, for a ski touring trip on Valle del Mosquito, Cerro Creston and Cerro Vespignani!
El Chalten is a mountain village in southern Patagonia (Patagonia Sur), within the Santa Cruz Province. Lying at the foot of the Andes and surrounded by beautiful forests, lakes and glaciers, this town is visited by tourists from all over the world.
My 3-day ski touring adventure is your chance to combine mountaineering and skiing in the surroundings of El Chalten. We will climb to remote areas to reach huge glaciers and powder snow spots. We will be rewarded with awesome descents and unforgettable views!
The first day we will go to Valle del Mosquito, an alpine valley offering several descent routes. From both summits we can see the popular Fitz Roy mount. The Cerro Creston Valley, our second objective, also offers stunning possibilities for climbing and skiing. Here we will cross impressive glacier terrain. Then, on the last day, we will try the powder snow of Cerro Vespignani, a great Patagonian mountain!
Please note that this trip only requires intermediate skiing skills, but a good fitness level: every day we will have to climb carrying our skis. For more information, you can check the itinerary below.
So, if you are up for this 3-day ski touring adventure in El Chalten, please get in touch with me. Let’s discover three amazing spots: Valle del Mosquito, Cerro Creston and Cerro Vespignani together!
I also offer a ski touring week in this same area. Check it out here.

Early transfer to Mosquito Creek’s Valley. 30-50 min hike carrying skis. Final ascent. Ski descents. Return to the village.

Mountain Guide
IFMGA/UIAGM guide from Argentina.
I’m trekking guide since 2009, and became fully IFMGA certified in 2014.
I’ve climbed in many destinations in the Andes in Argentina, and also in Perú, Brasil, France, Spain, Italy and Austria.
I work together with two other colleagues and friends, Indio and Tomás, who are also IFMGA. So if I’m not available to guide you, one of them can do it.
The three of us live in El Chalten, where we practice our profession and develop our passion for climbing and skiing. And we want to share it by opening the doors to all those who want to live their Patagonian experience in a safe and unforgettable way.
We are also committed to mountain training. Therefore, we can give you the basic tools to move in the mountain safely and smoothly. That's why we offer courses for all levels depending on the terrain you want to train. We give lessons of rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier transit and mountain skiing.

Juan was so friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic during our climb. He took us on appropriate warm-ups to assess our skill level and find exciting routes. Also he gave us tips throughout to not only climb, more efficiently, but to be safe. He was extremely knowledgable and attentive, and always felt safe and comfortable.
Indio is awesome! Great teacher. Great fun to be around. Would climb with him again. Highly recommend him no matter what your climbing level is.
Juan is a knowledgable, personable and strong guide. Cerro Solo is a great short peak for those wishing to hone their skills. Campsite is beautiful
