Description

Follow me to this incredible Greek town that is quickly becoming a major rock climbing destination in Europe. On these outstanding 3 days, we’ll tour the different routes in Leonidio and maybe even discover new ones!

Leonidio is a small town on the Peloponnese Peninsula, less than 4 hours away from Athens. It is quickly becoming a popular climbing area. Right now, there are more than 1,000 high quality limestone climbing routes and more on the way. Furthermore, the town is by the Mediterranean Sea and offers stunning views and all types of bars, cafes and fish taverns close to the beach to enjoy after a full day of climbing.

There are three main areas we’ll explore on this trip: Skiadhianiko (the biggest one with 50 different routes), Twin Caves (with choices for all levels) and Saint Nicolas (the most beautiful one of all with perfect grey rock and views of the whole town).

How to get to Leonidio
  • Car + ferry: if you want to bring your car loaded with gear, you can enter Greece via ferry from several ports of Italy (Venice: 30 h, Ancona: 21 h 30 min) towards Patras port, and drive 260 km from there to Leonidio (3 h 40 min).
  • Plane + car: you can fly to Athens International Airport (ATH), then rent a car and drive 235 km to Leonidio (3 h 30 min).

Leonidio has it all, it is the perfect spot for this climbing tour! Just send your request and let me take care of all the details. I can guarantee you won’t want to leave!

We climbed 3 days with Dimitris in Greece - he is a very knowledgeable about the climbing areas and showed us to 3 different crags while we were there. He is a very safe and experienced guide and wants his clients to have a great time while in Greece. He also showed us to some great restaurants in the area as well as coffee shops. I recommend him for your future adventures and look forward to climbing with him again. 5

From girlfriend: I have done a few guided outdoor climbing tours and I have to say that Dimitris explained the mechanics of outdoor climbing very well, as well as made sure we were safe and also climbed great routes. He was patient and kind when we were struggling, and very encouraging. He also shared great stories about the history of climbing in Leonido and introduced us to his friends in town (he seems to be friends with every body). It was a memorable time in an excellent location. From boyfriend: The location and routes Dimitris picked were great and well considered. For myself it was the first time top rope climbing, so I struggled a bit with some of the beginner movers as we went directly into action. My girlfriend is an experienced higher level climber and it was easy for her to keep up with the pace and she climbed some great routes. Overall we had a super guidance from Dimitris. We highly recommend this guide to anyone who is looking for a fun tour.

Dimitri was an expert in the local terrain throughout a vast region. He is professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of climbing, plus know how to have a good laugh outside of the ropes. 12/10 would climb again.
