Description

Looking for a program to develop your mountaineering skills and learn everything about safety in the mountains? Then join me on this 3-day course in Vallunaraju near the city of Huaraz.

At 5,686 meters above sea level, Vallunaraju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru. It’s very near Huaraz and it’s a moderate ascent to the summit. From the top, we can contemplate fantastic views of the city and surrounding peaks. Additionally, it’s an amazing place to practice mountaineering and improve your abilities.

The purpose of our course is to prepare you for future climbs and help you develop your safety skills in the mountains. Avalanches, rock falls and crevasses are often the cause of accidents, so it’s very important for climbers to be aware of these dangers and be prepared for setbacks.

On this course, we’ll focus on the necessary mountaineering abilities to face a climb safely and protect yourself and your team. We also have a simple formula to make decisions in the mountains that we’ll teach you during the course.

As for the itinerary, on day 1, we’ll depart from Huaraz to the campsite in Vallunaraju, where we’ll have an introductory talk and a practice session. On day 2, we’ll teach you about the crevasse rescue system and have the possibility to go to an ice cave in the evening. On day 3, we’ll go for Vallunaraju summit and head back to Huaraz.

Please, keep in mind that the level of this ascent is moderate, so it’s important to be physically fit.

So, do you think this program would suit you? Then contact me by sending the request to book your place. I’ll be glad to teach you all about mountaineering safety on this course.

What people are saying about Peru

He was very kind, patient and helped me to reach my goal the citadel of Machupicchu. One day I wanted to quit but he encouraged me to continue and waited for my step.

We did the MTB-Huarascan-Circuit (Crossing Punta Olimpica Pass and Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass) with Eric Albinos „Peru Expedition“. All, the transfers, the hotel stays, the acclimatization tours and the circuit itself, was well organized. Eric and his staff were flexible to our wishes and very helpful. Our Guide Joni is an excellent mountain bike-guide and good tailor too if something is torn. The cook prepared delicious meals during the circuit. The camping equipment was in very good condition. We (Karin, Franz. Wolfgang) can fully recommend „Eric´s Peru Expeditions“.

The agency gave me a guide Darwin, not Juventino. Climb was good, easy just walking. There is one dangerous section near the moraine area with very loose gravel. So make sure you don't slip there or you are dead. I stayed in refugio at the base camp which was much more comfy than camping. Darwin was good but give clients some breaks once in a while, not rush too much. It's a high altitude climbing after all.

5 star guide. Nothing but the best.
