The Canadian Rockies is home to the best multi-pitch ice climbing in the world. And the Bow Valley is prominent for amazing climbing with reliable conditions.
The valley rests along the upper section of the Bow River in Alberta, where classic, icy multi-pitch routes spread across its vast landscape.
Here, every climber has something to discover. As the terrain offers fulfilling climbs worthy of testing your skills and ability.
With no formal sessions during the 3 days, we fully focus on the practical side of climbing. And due to the changing nature of the terrain, our climbs are chosen on a day-to-day basis to match your ability as well as your own aims.
With the changing of the winds and cycles of freezing and thawing, each winter presents a new arrangement of climbing challenges. This is nature’s way of creating fresh and exciting new surfaces to conquer.
With this in mind, our goal for the 3 days is to pinpoint the more challenging and longer ice climbs in the area while surrounded by stunning scenery.

Wonderful expedition in the Rockies! My guide Brendan taught me loads on ice climbing technique and now I feel reasonably confident to ice climb again! Word of warning though, it's very hard and the guide will push you to your limits if you have only done little bits of ice climbing in the past. I climbed on the inside of a literal ice palace at one point! I am happy that I did this course and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to really test what they are made of on the ice!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
