Day Hike in Pelister National Park to the Large Lake, North Macedonia

Join me on this amazing hike to the Pelister National Park in North Macedonia, and discover the beauty of the Large Lake.

The Pelister National Park is located in the southwest area of North Macedonia and it was this country’s first National Park, declared in 1948. Inside you can find lots of hikes that climb up the impressive Baba Mountain Range which is famous for its natural richness and historic and scientific importance.

On this day hike, we will discover the fantastic Large Lake. The best way to approach this hike is by starting from the city of Bitola, which is just a few kilometers away from the Park.

We will take a moderate 3-hour hike to the Large Lake, at 2218m. At the lake, we will enjoy a nice picnic and then continue to a viewpoint perfect for pictures. Then, we will descend to Nize pole village where we can take you back to the hotel or enjoy lunch in a guesthouse and try the delicious local food.
