Vallecitos is home to many other equally impressive mountains, like the Cerro Adolfo Calles, Stepanek and Franke. All of them rise above the 4,000 meters of height. Thus, making the expeditions on these peaks the perfect training for taller ones.
So, this is the perfect trip if you are planning to climb higher mountains, like the Aconcagua (6,962m) in the Andes, or others in the Himalayas.
Due to the high altitude at which we will be trekking, this expedition requires you to be in a good physical shape. Also, it requires you to have previous experience climbing.
But my main goal is that you reach the top of Cerro San Bernardo safely. So, I’ll make sure we follow all the measures necessary to keep you safe, while having fun. Moreover, we’ll trek at a safe pace, to ensure you have enough time for acclimatization at every stage of the expedition.
What’s more, you’ll get the chance to explore the beautiful city of Mendoza upon arrival. Try some of their famous wines and take the city tour to enjoy this wonderful city.
If you want to join this climbing adventure, send me a request. I promise it will be an unforgettable adventure reaching the summit of Cerro San Bernardo on our 3-day ascent.
However, if you don’t have any experience and wish to join an expedition, I have other options. For instance, I also guide this introductory mountaineering course in Uspallata.
We’ll meet in Potrerillos. Then, we’ll transfer to the Vallecitos ski center at 3,000 meters. After that, we’ll trek towards Veguitas (3,200m), where we’ll set our camping and spend the night.
After an early breakfast we’ll head to the top of Cerro San Bernardo. Then we’ll head back to Veguitas, where we’ll stay for the night.
Early morning, and after a delicious breakfast we’ll descend to Vallecitos. Then, we’ll transfer to Potrerillos where our adventure ends.

Mountain Leader
EPGAMT Mountain guide from Argentina.
The mountain is my workplace and space to enjoy what I like to do ... mountaineering.
I climbedd and promoted various mountains and volcanoes such as: Aconcagua , Ojos del Salado, Pissis , Walter Penck , Incahuasi, Plata, Rincon, Vallecitos , etc.
The mountain can find oneself, to rediscover the essence and every moment. It is a natural place that transmits balance, harmony, tranquility and at the same time, tests us and motivates us to self-improvement. The mountain is accessible to all, just enough to take the first step ... we offer a different experience to share.
