Description

Join our experienced guide for an exhilarating mountaineering experience in the heart of the Swiss Alps!

Over the course of three days, we will make our way up the to summit of the iconic Wetterhorn in the picturesque village of Grindelwald.

We begin our trip from the Wetterhorn Restaurant, taking a bus (fare not included in the price) to the trailhead then hike for three hours to Gleckstein Hut.

We leave early the next morning and begin our ascent via the Willis Ridge to the summit saddle. More than 100 years ago, Winston Churchill ascended this mountain via the same ridge!

For the final leg of the trip, we either ascend to the summit proper by climbing through a snowy gully or a rocky ridge (depending on the weather). Once we arrive, we will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Alps as well as Grindelwald, which will look microscopic from our lofty 3,701 meter altitude.

We will then make our way back down to Grindelwald. From the Gleckstein Hut to the summit will take about five to six hours and coming back will take about three to four.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for the mountaineering experience of a lifetime to the top of the Wetterhorn in the sublime scenery of central Switzerland!

If you like the look of this trip then we think you will also like our 2-day snow ridge ascent of Fiescherhorn!

Peter

This was a great trip and Explore Share made finding the right trip super easy. Our guide was personable, extremely knowledgeable, and experienced and willing to teach us the skills we would have needed to climb the Matterhorn. Unfortunatly, the conditions were not right to climb so our guide recemmended another trip which was still a great experience and lots of fun.

Emma

Very user friendly platform with timely responses from Explore Share representatives. The trip itself with Tom from Alps Adventures was awesome and ensure that we had an experience that was 100% what we wanted. Recommend both the platform and the guide. Thanks to all for arranging and delivering so well.

I had am amazing time during the 1-day off-piste training course at Hoch-Ybrig. Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
