Description

The Ophir Pass Ultimate Ski (OPUS) Hut is the newest and largest alpine hut in the Northern San Juan Mountains.

The solar-powered OPUS Hut rests at 13,666 feet on the southern slopes of Lookout Peak, receiving plenty of sunshine each day.

Ophir is a historic mining town in the San Miguel County of Colorado. It has a tiny population of less than 200, yet is an ideal springboard to reach the San Juan Mountains.

The San Juan Mountains are a high and rugged range in the Rocky Mountains. Once a hotspot for silver and gold mining, the slopes are now open for winter enthusiasts.

It is sandwiched between the great skiing towns of Silverton and Telluride, high in the mountains that offer fantastic craggy faces, wide-open bowls and stunning tree runs.

OPUS Hut guarantees a fully-luxurious space for resting and relaxing, after a full day of exploring the wild and rugged slopes of Colorado.

We’ll be able to customise the itinerary depending on your level of ability, and with my knowledge of the slopes of San Juan, we’ll ensure a quality trip.

This 3-day backcountry skiing trip is for intermediate to advanced skiers in search of their next mountain challenge.

Get in touch now to reserve your place in the luxurious OPUS Hut in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado for a 3-day backcountry skiing trip.
