Are you looking for an exciting and safe winter adventure? Then let’s go to Sierra de Gredos, near Madrid, for a stunning snowshoeing and stargazing trip.
The Sierra de Gredos is one of the largest sub-ranges of the Central System mountains. Located in central Spain, this beautiful area comprises five river valleys and has a rich and varied flora and fauna. During the winter, it gets covered with snow and turns into a truly white paradise.
On this 2-day trip you will learn how to properly use snow rackets. We will reach the summit of two of the most emblematic peaks of Sierra de Gredos: El Morezón (2389m) and La Mira (2343m). In addition, we will carry out a night traverse through Los Barrerones where we will perform an astronomy activity that will allow us to enjoy the starry sky without light pollution.
All the routes are easy, so you don’t need special skills and you can bring your kids with you. Check the complete itinerary below!

Pedro was so knowledgeable about the area, and graciously answered all our questions, even those unrelated to the hike. He was very kind in picking us up from Madrid for a small fee. He also took a bunch of photos of my husband and I during the trek, which I really appreciated since those are our only pictures together from our trip to Spain. I'd definitely recommend Pedro to anyone traveling to Madrid and interested in experiencing nature outside the city.
