Looking for a unique hiking experience in the Argentine Patagonia? Then join me on this exciting 2-day adventure to the impressive peak of Mount Alvear at an altitude of 1,450 meters above sea level in the southernmost city of Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego!
Mount Alvear is the third highest peak in the Darwin Range. It can be accessed almost any time of the year, but the best period is spring and summer to enjoy the stunning rivers and waterfalls on our hike up.
On this beautiful hike, we’ll reach outstanding valleys, glaciers and forests. Additionally, we’ll catch breathtaking views of the Beagle Channel, the Darwin Range, and Escondido, Fagnano and Yehuin lakes from the peak. The first day, we’ll hike to the basecamp and set up our camping equipment. Then, on the second day, we’ll hike up 4-6 hours to the summit and then descend to the basecamp to return to Ushuaia.
If you are ready to explore the beautiful Patagonia, send me a message. This incredible location is waiting for you!
For more hiking trips in Ushuaia, be sure to check out the ones I offer to Laguna Esmeralda or to Cerro del Medio.

Mountain Guide
Mountaineering is part of my life since I was a child. I'm from Ushuaia and now I'm leaving in El Chalten, two of the most beautiful places in Patagonia for hiking, skiing, climbing and feeling the strong and pristine Patagonian nature.
I started guiding in 2014 and it has turned a way of leaving. I have worked in many areas of the Andes Range, from the low and sharp mountains in Ushuaia until the high mountain in the Real Range (Bolivia), and many trekking and mountains in North Patagonia Area (Bariloche) and Central Andes (Mendoza). Now in El Chalten I guide many beautiful trekking in the area. I guide the treks in Los Glaciares National Park under license of Zeta Trek.
I'm also an experimented climber and a certificated climbing monitor FASA (Argentinian Federation of Skiing and Andinism). And I'm studying Waldorf Pedagogy oriented to physical activity.
Please get in touch with me if you wish to be guided in South Patagonia this summer! or to organize a beautiful adventure in the Andes whenever you feel it's the moment to experiment something new.

Lilen was a fantastic guide for our group. She educated us during our trek on the native plants, wildlife, surrounding geology and mountain topography. Shared amazing stories of people she has met, additional day hiking options in the area, and attempted to help improve our Spanish vocabulary. She did this all while making sure the actual trek was safe, enjoyable and not too strenuous. At times it felt just like we were hiking with a friend that we had total trust in rather than a stranger leading us through a majestic 4 day trek through the Andes. In all we had a blast and loved the entire experience. Thanks Lilen.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
