The Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve is an ecological area, covering the states of Queretaro, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi and Hidalgo. But, most of it lies in Queretaro, with an ecosystem that comprises the municipalities of Pinal de Amoles, Landa de Matamoros, Jalpan de Serra, Arroyo Seco and Peñamiller on more than 250 square kilometers. The area is very rugged and it has various steep majestic peaks, as well as mesmerizing canyons. This incredible region has a huge importance for the country, as it contains a wide diversity of flora and fauna, including diverse micro environments due to its unique terrain.
On this thrilling adventure we will get to visit the most secluded spots on this breathtaking place. We will navigate on hypnotizing rivers, tubing and rowing on its fun rapids, filled with crystalline waters. Then, we’ll tackle a 35 meter waterfall, rappelling on it. Thereupon, we’ll get the chance to jump into natural swimming pools, with the most marvelous turquoise palette. Furthermore, we will hike through the most enchanting paths, surrounded by magical views. Finally, we’ll visit historical sights such as the Jalpan Mission.
