Have you ever tried multi-pitch climbing in Switzerland? This is my proposal! I invite you to follow me on this 2-day adventure in the canton of Valais where we’ll explore the great Jegihorn and its many multi-pitch climbing routes!
Located in the southwestern part of the country and in the heart of the Alps, the Canton of Valais is one of Switzerland’s most famous regions. Moreover, the Jegihorn (3,206 m) is one of this area’s most classic climbing destinations. Surrounded by spectacular mountains like the Lagginhorn (4,010 m) and the Weissmies (4,017 m), we’ll enjoy the amazing views of the Valais giants while discovering its many multi-pitch climbing routes.
Our starting point will be in the charming municipality of Saas Grund. From there, we’ll ride on a cable car to Kreuzboden (840 m) and then, continue all the way up to the Weissmies Hut. Our first day will allow us to prepare for our real adventure that will take place on the following day.
During our second day, we’ll explore the south face of the Jeghihorn. We’ll choose the “Alpendurst” Route which is a popular moderate to difficult route that will take us all the way up to the summit. Additionally, I recommend this trip to intermediate climbers only and bear in mind, that it’s essential to have a good fitness level.
So, if you are ready to join me on this Jegihorn 2-day program, I will be happy to guide you and show you the spectacular Swiss Alps. Send your request!

Meeting point in Saas Grund. From there, we’ll ride on the cable car to the Kreuzboden and ascend to the Weissmies hut.
Depending on each participant’s level, we’ll decide which route to explore. I strongly recommend ascending through the Jeghihorn S-edge which will be a great way to start with our climbing program.
(difficulty from 4a to 7b)
We’ll climb a route through the south face of the Jeghihorn (3,206m).
“Alpendurst” is probably the best known route of moderate difficulty (4b, 11 pitches) and leads directly to the summit. However, keep in mind that there are also other nice options. we’ll decide which route to explore togeather.
We’ll return at approx. 16 o’clock from Saas Grund.

Mountain Guide
I was born in 1988. Thanks to my parents, I learned to live and love the mountains. Already at 16, at my hometown Ticino, I started practicing mountaineering and other activities with my friends. Creativity reigned in every tour we went on.
Later, I developed my ski mountaineering and climbing techniques at the Alpine Club (Lugano). In 2008, I moved to Switzerland to complete my studies. I got my Biology Degree (2011) in Basel and my Master's in Neuroscience (2013) in Zurich. Yet, my love for the mountain remained alive and strong all along. This helped me take the next step: my training as an Alpine Guide.
I like to take my guests on a variety of activities. I mainly focus on wild and little known spots, as well as in niche activities like traditional climbing, which is based on the use of natural protections alone. My personal favorites? Long-climbing and exploration ski-mountaineering. I also offer hikes on the wild Ticino mountains, Val Varzasca or Val Bavona. In the summer season, I recommend the High Way of the Verzasca for a long excursion, or a less crowded peak of the Bernese Alps, to enjoy nature away from the most popular spots.
Overall, respect for nature is central to all my activities on the mountain. I am a big believer in diving into nature fully, to achieve a boost of positive energy and well-being, and get to know the mountain through sports, nature and culture.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
