Licancabur Volcano is a stratovolcano that belongs to the Andes and is located on the border between Chile and Bolivia. Due to its shape, this peak is one of the most characteristic volcanoes of the area. It has an altitude of 5,972 meters and is considered to be a sacred place in the Inca culture.
Our trip will start in San Pedro de Atacama, in the northern area of Chile. On day 1, weâll go from this area to the border with Bolivia and visit the beautiful Laguna Verde, at the base of the mountain. On day 2, weâll begin our trek to the summit of Licancabur and you will get to see its incredible crater.
This is a challenging excursion. Therefore, take into account that you should have a very good fitness level to take this trip. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way.Â
So do you find this program tempting? Then send your request now and explore this Andes jewel. I will be happy to guide you to the summit.
I also lead a trekking program to El Morado and a mountaineering trip to Cerro UniĂłn, both in Chile. Check them out!

We had a fantastic trip with Carlos as our guide. We were able to summit Mont Blanc with Carlosâ guidance and couldnât have asked for more. There were some adverse weather conditions on the final day of our trip and so Carlos changed the refuge bookings to allow us to descend safely albeit with a long summit day. Explore-Share were great throughout with communications and Nico in particular was very helpful. Would definitely recommend but make sure to come prepared as it is a very tough climb!

Although we werenât able to make it to the top due to a last minute weather change, we truly enjoyed the expedition and Carlos as a guide! We will be trying again next year đ
