2 Day Climbing Trip in Montserrat and Pedraforca

During this 2-day guided climbing trip, you will have the opportunity to explore Catalonia’s incredible landscape while honing your climbing technique.  This is a special opportunity to practice both trad and sport climbing on two of the region’s most iconic spots.

This program takes us to two of Catalonia’s best climbing spots: Pedraforca and Montserrat.  Pedraforca is a uniquely shaped peak that towers above the surrounding landscape, as it is not connected to any other mountains.  Montserrat is a cluster of jagged mountains that brings to mind the blade of a saw. Both are famous climbing destinations close to Barcelona, and both feature numerous walls with routes that appeal to climbers of all levels.

We will meet the morning of Day 1 and head to Montserrat, where we will have the chance to sport climb the multipitch needles.  Then, we will head by car to Refugi Lluís Estasen, where we will spend the night. After a refreshing night’s sleep, we wake up and spend the day climbing Pedraforca, where we have the opportunity to work on our trad climbing technique.  After a second day of climbing, we will head back to Barcelona.

While you need to have a moderate fitness level in order to enjoy climbing for two consecutive days, this program can be adapted for all levels of climbers, from beginner to advanced.  I will guide you up the routes that best suit your ability.
