Description

Join me on this off piste snowboarding tour of 1 or more days around Chopok (2,024 m), the third highest peak of the Low Tatra range!

I will be happy to guide around Chopok and show you this freeride snowboarding paradise. From the top of this amazing mountain, skiers and snowboarders will admire a panoramatic view of High Tatra, the valley of Hron and the beautiful region of Liptov.

During these tours, we may explore both sides of Chopok (2024 m). Our starting point can be either Jasna, (Low Tatras, northern base) or Tale (Bystra, southern base), located on the other side of the mountain range. Jasna is the best and biggest ski resort in the country, and has a steeper terrain. Whereas in the ski resort of Tale, the slopes are bigger and we may enjoy longer descents. Depending on the participants level and snow conditions, I will decide which places to explore and discover to make sure you have an amazing winter adventure!

Find this off piste snowboarding tour tempting? Then request your booking and get ready for an amazing experience in the mountains of Slovakia!  You can also join me on this Splitboarding across the Tatras Haute Route in 4 days

Mountain Guide

I was born in Poprad and I live, work and relax in the High Tatras. I have been climbing in this region for 15 years both in summer and winter.
Since 2001 I am a professional rescuer with a completed Bachelor education in Urgent Medical Care. Furthermore, I work in The Experts Mountain Rescue Service (in High Tatras) as an avalanche specialist.
In 2009, after passing the entrance examination for mountain guiding, I started the roundabout course. In April 2010, I became a mountain guide aspirant in the National Association of Mountain Guides of the Slovak Republic.
In 2011, during the final course in Chamonix - Mont Blanc (France) I successfully completed the course of mountain guide during four days of tests, under the strict supervision of Technical Commission NAHVSR instructors. Since then, I am a mountain guide with the IFMGA / UIAGM international license.
Thanks to this job (and hobby) I am pleased to expand the horizons of my clients and share with them my knowledge and experience as a mountain guide.

What people are saying about Kuna

We spent 2 days with Pavol as he introduced us to ice climbing. Upon meeting him, we were pleased with his professionalism and his impressive experiences climbing around the world. It didn't take long for us to realise his expertise on the mountain, as well as his passion and down to earth attitude. Over 2 days, in 2 different locations, we got learn the basics of ice climbing on some serious ice falls. He gave us advice on techniques and strategies to get us climbing higher and more efficiently. The whole time Pavol made us feel very safe and in control, as daunting as ice climbing may be. In the end we had a great time and learnt a lot, and he left us hungry for more. He definitely showed us this is a sport and passion we can keep following. We hope to climb with Pavol again next time we visit Europe.
