Description

Join me on this 11-day mountain biking tour in the Cordillera Blanca, from Huaraz, Peru, and I promise we will experience some of the most thrilling, wild, fun and beautiful mountain biking routes and trails in South America, as we wind our way around the magnificent Cordillera Blanca and explore the ancient Incan culture that still permeates the region.

The Cordillera Blanca is a mountain range located in the North of Peru, nestled within the larger Andes Mountain Range, and is renowned for being the highest tropical mountain range in the world. It has the highest concentration of ice in Peru, and the highest peak in Peru, Huascaran (6768m), stands in the range.

We begin our journey by meeting in Lima on the first day, and from there we head to Huaraz to begin 2 days of acclimatization. After a day of rest, we earnestly begin our 5 days of intense mountain biking on day 6, as we traipse and travail around countless trails, passes, forests, fields, mountains and glaciers.

Some of the landscape, scenery and terrain we will encounter is absolutely superb, and we will be exposed to some amazing and sweeping panoramic views back over it, seemingly stretching on forever beneath us out in to the distance.

In the evenings we are able to refresh and relax thanks to the warm and kind hospitality of the local people, and we will be able to learn more about the rich, fascinating and complex history and culture of the local communities.

We finish our trip on the 11th day, weary, content and satisfied at having explored this awe-inspiring part of Peru in such a unique way.

This is by far the most fun and thrilling way to experience the Cordillera Blanca – book now so you don’t miss out!

What people are saying about Peru

He was very kind, patient and helped me to reach my goal the citadel of Machupicchu. One day I wanted to quit but he encouraged me to continue and waited for my step.

We did the MTB-Huarascan-Circuit (Crossing Punta Olimpica Pass and Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass) with Eric Albinos „Peru Expedition“. All, the transfers, the hotel stays, the acclimatization tours and the circuit itself, was well organized. Eric and his staff were flexible to our wishes and very helpful. Our Guide Joni is an excellent mountain bike-guide and good tailor too if something is torn. The cook prepared delicious meals during the circuit. The camping equipment was in very good condition. We (Karin, Franz. Wolfgang) can fully recommend „Eric´s Peru Expeditions“.

Marcela

The agency gave me a guide Darwin, not Juventino. Climb was good, easy just walking. There is one dangerous section near the moraine area with very loose gravel. So make sure you don't slip there or you are dead. I stayed in refugio at the base camp which was much more comfy than camping. Darwin was good but give clients some breaks once in a while, not rush too much. It's a high altitude climbing after all.

5 star guide. Nothing but the best.

A very, very sympathic guide, who knows all the secrets of the places and itinerarys the most beautiful ; organization top ; food excellent too ; marvellous souvenirs.
